January 3rd is Wanderer's birthday, and this set of photos can finally meet everyone today. When planning the shoot, I wanted to fully materialize the lines from the title: "I simply exist, that's all" and "I find it disgusting." Wanderer's traits of self-conflict and detachment from the world offer great creative space for a cosplayer, but also present a big challenge. Today, I'll chat about what went on behind the scenes from a first-person perspective in this Atmospheric cosplay set.

First, let's talk about makeup, styling, and costume—this outfit has rich layering. The black main crop top is paired with deep blue short hair; I intentionally trimmed the bangs slightly thicker to cover my eyes, conveying a sense of weary indifference and reluctance to make eye contact. The most intricate parts are the collar and shoulder design: the large hollow metal ring ornament on the chest is quite heavy, and the red-and-white thick woven ropes draped over the shoulders add substantial weight to the look. The lower half consists of black shorts and Black over-the-knee socks paired with boots. During the shoot, I specifically chose sitting poses to showcase leg lines; combining black socks with a black-and-red scene easily builds mood.

Next, let me discuss scene setup and prop selection. To match the character's unique temperament, instead of bright outdoors, we arranged a dark-toned Japanese-style scene. Red drapes hung down like blood, while red fabric on the floor and silver reflective plastic film created a fragmented, surreal sense of space. In the foreground were white human skull props and lit white candles, directly echoing themes of "life, death, and extinction" visually. Red Spider Lily flowers and white paper lanterns served as fantastic light source props; the lighting artist used these point sources to keep my face half-shimmering in shadows, making my gaze look dreamy and deep. Red threads hanging from above in the background and the silhouette of a white paper umbrella added fuller composition to the frame.

Now about the psychological state, which was hardest to grasp during shooting. The quotes themselves carry tremendous weight; to convey that feeling of "merely existing here, finding everything absurd," I barely smiled throughout the half-day shoot, keeping my eyes distant or lowered. In one scene, I held a small blue-glowing butterfly prop, which stood out sharply in the dark venue—seemingly symbolizing an indelible spark deep within the character's heart, as well as a tangible expression of loneliness. The contrast and lighting of black, red, and blue gave the final photos a strong sense of fatalism.

To be honest, I really pushed myself for this photo set. Maintaining such an oppressive and intensely cold emotion for a long time consumes a lot of energy. Coupled with the candles and red tones on set, for a split second, I truly felt as if I had stepped into that dark fable. After finishing this set, what made me happiest was capturing Wanderer's appearance on this day. The final set didn't undergo overly tedious post-processing, preserving real light-shadows and material textures as much as possible, because this authenticity better highlights the character's tsundere, sharp-tongued, and slightly decadent charm. I'm very satisfied with the final result; wearing black shorts and black socks was genuinely helpful for posing dynamics, preserving character design while ensuring visual comfort across the frame. On this special date, I dedicate this to commemorate my love for this character and this game.
