Today's nurse-themed fan-made creation for Keqing put quite a lot of effort into the details. I've always wanted to cosplay Keqing, but the traditional original outfit is really too common at comic conventions. Coincidentally, a brand provided this little devil nurse-style outfit this time, so I immediately thought of Keqing. Although Keqing is a decisive and efficient Liyue Qixing in the original setting, this demon nurse setting with an extremely strong sense of contrast not only retains Keqing's sharp gaze, but also adds a touch of playfulness and danger.
Let's talk about this outfit first. The material of the outerwear is that glossy PU leather, which has a particularly good reflective effect and looks very textured under the lighting. However, a major pain point of wearing this material is that it's not breathable; after posing for a few actions, the back is full of sweat. So when everyone shoots cos with this material, remember to bring oil-absorbing sheets and loose powder to touch up makeup at any time, otherwise the facial oil reflection combined with the clothing reflection will make post-processing photo retouching very painful.
In the headwear part, the nurse cap plus black devil horns, as well as the blue bow on the twin tails, have a lot of details. For the wig, I chose a light purple twin-tail styling with a slight curl at the ends, which makes it look more lively. To add some dreamy feel, I also sprinkled some fine shimmer on the hair, which will have that starry dot effect when back-lit, very beautiful. In terms of makeup, I deliberately heavy-handed the blush and eye shadow smudging, paired with pink contact lenses, trying to create that bewitching and proud feeling of a little devil. The gaze should still look quite aggressive, right?
In terms of props, a nurse badge was prepared this time, and the photo on it is also Keqing, plus that heart-shaped tail, it's really too cute. The buckle sticker on the waist comes with the outfit, adding a bit of humor. I also deliberately matched white long tube socks; white stockings actually test leg shapes quite a bit, but paired with this white nurse short skirt, the overall visual feel is very unified.
During the shoot, to match the theme of the little devil nurse, we deliberately chose an all-black background, and then added pink-purple lighting. This kind of lighting tests the camera's dynamic range very much, but the effect of the photos taken is really amazing, the texture of the clothes is completely stimulated. In terms of action, I tried my best to figure out the feeling of holding a syringe—although not holding a syringe, the gaze needs to have that feeling—a proud and slightly provocative demeanor. The one sitting on the ground resting the chin on the hand, I feel it best embodies the oppression of "if you don't listen, I'm going to give you an injection."
Actually, the happiest thing about cosplaying is trying outfits of different settings, placing a familiar character into a brand-new worldview. Keqing herself is a character with strong opinions and action-driven nature, and bringing her into this little devil nurse setting instead collides into a wonderful chemical reaction. Although the shooting process was very exhausting, posing until back aches and sore muscles, the moment I saw the final photos, I felt everything was worth it. Whether it's the costume details or the overall atmospheric feel of this styling, I personally am quite satisfied, and hope everyone can also like this style exploration.
