[Komeiji Koishi Cosplay] Booth Slacking & 3-Day Comic Convention Log for Touhou Project

On the third day of the Hangzhou Zhuimeng Comic Convention, the crowd in the hall stabilized a bit compared to the first two days, and it was finally my turn to take charge of booth duty. But rather than standing vigilantly on guard, it was more like finding a creative way to slack off. Look at this lightweight takoyaki prop I made myself—even though it feels quite weighty when squeezed, holding it for photo effects is super fun. I couldn't help joking with passersby: \"Wanna take a bite too?\"

I was actually wandering around other booths yesterday, but today I officially put on my Komeiji Koishi cosplay outfit and stood in front of the lens. Honestly, this costume really tests the details under convention conditions. The star hair ornament on the hat paired with short green hair pops amazingly under bright lights, but as I walked around the venue for most of the day, I kept worrying that the hat might fall off. The costume's main color blocking of yellow and green, combined with black lace trimming at the collar and hem, creates a outfit that seamlessly fits the Touhou Project vibe. Especially the blue tubing draped across the chest and the purple connecting cord, along with intricate strap details throughout the outfit, make the overall look appear extraordinarily layered under the warm yellow booth lighting.

Also, the biggest difficulty of wearing a skirt with so many layered ruffles at a comic convention is squatting and standing back up. To cooperate with various photo poses throughout the day, I had to constantly maintain my posture. Though it was a bit exhausting, seeing the slightly low-angle shots and dynamic moments captured in the photographers' cameras made all the hard work feel worth it. Combined with the off-white lace rimming the hem, as well as the echo between the stockings and the lower hemline, this outfit design delivers a unique texture from every camera angle.

But compared to the character itself, my greatest sense of happiness today came from the food at the event. When I posted \"eat eat eat eat eat eat\", I wasn't joking at all. This year's Hangzhou Zhuimeng Comic Convention not only had great exhibitors, but also had a surprisingly rich array of food stalls and food-themed merchandise inside the hall. During my break shift, I went for a stroll holding this takoyaki plush prop, looking like I was actually going to buy a real serving of takoyaki to satisfy my cravings. Even though it was just a prop in my hand, it made for a fun interaction with the event's atmosphere.

In addition, as part of the comic convention booth owner's daily life, besides walking around for photos, I also had to manage the booth. The yellow lanyard and black convention badge around my neck are my little proof of identity as a booth operator. Although I look perfectly relaxed holding food props in the photos, the booth behind me was actually piled high with merch and supplies waiting to be organized. Thankfully, I had friends and co-exhibitors helping out today, or I wouldn't have been able to handle it all by myself.

This cosplay costume also took quite a bit of effort during crafting, with fabric choices and color matching aiming to closely mirror the character design. Especially the hat—I specifically reinforced the internal support structure so that it could stay securely in place even in dense convention crowds. The star patches on the hat were also meticulously color-matched before heading out.

Many people say that cosplaying characters from Touhou Project is quite challenging, as bringing out that mysterious yet ethereal air requires constant refinement. Although I'm not a veteran hardcore player myself, every time I put on this outfit and enter the scene, I naturally get swept up in the atmosphere. Today's Komeiji Koishi outfit made many passing visitors and fans stop by to look or ask if the prop was actually edible—these lighthearted social moments are honestly the most joyful part of attending a comic convention.

On the third day of the event, physical stamina was definitely drained, but my mental spirit became even more hyped. Normally sitting at the booth, I might glance at my phone to pass the time, but whenever someone with a camera walked up, I quickly struck my most comfortable posture for the photo. Luckily, my outfit today was vibrant enough—the color contrast of yellow, green, and black stood out brilliantly in the vast hall, which significantly boosted my successful convention photo rate.

By the third day of the convention, I had gotten used to balancing booth duty with roaming around the exhibition hall. Although there's still one more day of events tomorrow, today's lovely sunlight, the sweaty heat outside contrasting with the cool AC indoors, and that takoyaki plush prop held in my hand all formed my vivid memories of this Hangzhou Zhuimeng Comic Convention. Being able to wear such a carefully crafted outfit and share the joy of the convention with everyone is inherently a deeply meaningful experience.
