For this Remilia shoot, I really put a lot of effort into the costume. The entire dress features a classic red, black, and white color scheme with a multi-layered Lolita structure, maxed out on details from the deep V-lace on the chest to the tulle ruffles on the skirt hem. To give the skirt hem that fluffy court-like feel, I wore several petticoats underneath, along with various pearl necklaces and rose decorations; putting it on and taking it off required someone's help. The headpiece is a huge red and black lace-trimmed hat, which makes the neck sore after wearing it for a long time, but it's truly worth it for the camera effect.
The wig chosen was a light blue-purple short style with blunt bangs, maintaining a sense of layering during trimming. Red contact lenses paired with darkened red eyeshadow at the outer corners of the eyes create the dangerous yet noble temperament unique to a vampire. The nails were specially done in a dark color series; when holding a red apple near the mouth, paired with red lips, it matches the character's setting very well.
In terms of props, besides the black small wings representing the vampire attribute, a red long-handled weapon and a wooden picture frame were also prepared. What I am most satisfied with is that magnificent golden chair; the golden carvings and the red backrest have extreme dramatic tension under the overall red ambient lighting. Photographer Ruoye's control of light and shadow is extremely spot-on, and the red-and-black tones of the entire venue, the Gothic arches, and the red drapery give every photo a strong dark fantasy atmosphere.
During the shooting process, what required the most pondering was the handling of poses. After all, Remilia is the young mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, tsundere and dignified to the core. When sitting on the golden chair, crossing the legs can well showcase the lines of the black stockings and red garter rings, paired with red bow heels, which not only elongates the leg proportions but also reveals a hint of sexiness amidst the cold glamour. When leaning against the edge of the chair, it requires a straight back, holding an apple or a red halberd, with a gaze that carries a slight sense of looking down upon others.
Another few sets of poses on the ground holding the picture frame were also very interesting; when kneeling or lying sideways, the tulle layers of the skirt hem spread out, increasing the layering and volume sense of the frame. To avoid looking stiff, I kept adjusting the curvature of my shoulders and wrists. Because the costume is very heavy, some actions are actually quite strenuous to perform, especially the one holding the halberd where the arm needs to remain stable while matching it with a tsundere expression. Long legs in black stockings paired with red garter rings look good, but one must be careful not to expose anything while sitting and keep the leg muscles relaxed so the lines look nice.
From makeup styling to prop matching, the entire set of photos strives to restore that vampire lord sitting beneath the red moon, full of aristocratic aura. I hope everyone likes this carefully prepared work.
