This photoshoot features Komeiji Koishi from the Touhou Project. A lot of effort was put into the details of the entire costume, from the blue rose on the wide-brimmed black hat to the iconic blue orb on her chest, as well as the telephone cords wrapped around her body and the purple receiver, all striving to restore that bizarre yet fairytale-like atmosphere of the original setting. White studio photography actually puts the layers and texture of the costume to the test. The dark green jacquard skirt hem paired with a white ruffled blouse and embellished with black lace allows the overall color scheme to stand out beautifully against the clean background. In terms of props, besides the classic telephone, I also prepared a small knife to add a touch of playfulness and danger to the character. Poses like holding up the knife while standing on one leg or sitting while listening to the phone can better convey her temperament of wandering outside of common sense. The photographer's shutter timing was very precise, vividly presenting the flowing nature of the skirt hem and the interaction with the props through several sets of movements. Actually, there are many aspects to dig into regarding Komeiji Koishi's character setting—the unconsciousness, love, and those scattered clues. Through this Anime cosplay performance, I hope the audience can feel her unique personality, which is both innocent and carries a hint of mystery. The costume coordination and makeup styling tried best to match the original style, especially the trimming of the wig's curvature and the color harmony of the eye makeup, which gave the overall completion a higher level. The shooting process went very smoothly, and the lighting in the studio was very soft without any issues of overexposure or heavy shadows. Personally, I am quite satisfied with the final photo results, and I hope everyone will like this Touhou Project cosplay presentation with a touch of dark fairytale style.
