This time, I completed this set of outdoor official photos of Kagiyama Hina cosplay from Touhou Project in front of the Shishi Huahaigu Waterfall. Compared to a studio, the outdoor light and natural water flow give this red-and-white vintage dress cosplay a more translucent texture. Especially the white water under the long exposure of the waterfall and the dark rock walls form a cool-toned background perfectly suited for the character during this Waterfall location photography.

The shoot took place in the winter, and wearing this outfit while standing on the stepping stones by the water, the perceived temperature was actually lower than imagined. The brown mid-calf boots on my feet stood very stably on the wet rocks, allowing me to confidently strike casual poses such as resting my chin in my hands or lightly touching my jaw. The teal wig was slightly disheveled in the breeze, which conversely fit the definition of being "casual" without deliberately pursuing perfection. There are actually many details in this costume; whether it is the white lace on the cuffs, the red bow at the neckline, or the iconic black-and-white trim on the skirt hem and the side badge, they were all beautifully restored in front of the lens.

The idea behind shooting this set of photos was about subtraction—no overly exaggerated light sources or excessive post-processing modifications, but trying my best to restore that quiet and tranquil natural atmosphere among the valleys at that time. This slightly cool-grey color tone forms a wonderful contrast of warm and cool with the deep wine red of the skirt. Although this character is set to govern misfortune in Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of Faith, the feeling I wished to present was quiet and soft. As my first official TFP (mutual collaboration) outdoor work, from scouting the location to the formal shoot, I am personally very satisfied with the organized final product. Going on an outdoor shoot itself is very interesting, cooperating with the photographer to capture these natural moments, leaving behind great memories.
