This set of Salter Swimsuit cosplay photos was taken around 3:00 PM when the sunlight was just right and the reflections on the water were brilliant. The location chosen was an open-air swimming pool where the blue water surface paired with the black halter outfit created a strong visual contrast, making it easier to highlight the subject's placement in the frame. The short silver hair had an amazing texture under strong light, and snapping shots as the wind blew clearly revealed the translucent light transmission through the hair strands. The core lighting of this entire set relied on natural light during this window of time.

To emphasize the character's feel during shooting, golden-brown contact lenses were selected, and the eye makeup intensified the reddish smudging to make the gaze look sharper. This three-quarter angle paired with the pressure of a high-angle downward shot is ideal for showcasing Salter's usual cold and aloof aura. Although the overall tone leans cool, keeping warm colors in the eye makeup and pupil colors created a cool-warm contrast that prevented the figure from blending completely into the blue water scenery. The tailoring of the outfit is sleek and crisp, with cutout designs adding breathability, allowing the body posture to relax easily without feeling too stiff.

I am personally quite pleased with the first photo: the side-backlight caught half the face just right, the shadow transitions were clean and crisp, and combined with the faint blue caustic spots on the water, the overall atmosphere was very strong. The second photo used a few props, leaning towards a casual, daily leisure vibe rather than the sharp aggression of the first one. Retouching focused on tuning the saturation of the blues and the softness of the highlights, preserving hair texture without over-airbrushing so the skin wouldn't lose its natural, breathable quality.

Regarding shooting details, waiting for a gust of wind to lift the bangs required multiple takes while standing by the water for a long time. The highlights cast on the shoulders and hair edges looked gorgeous—a natural glowing effect that post-processing can hardly replicate fully. The makeup also deliberately sharpened the eyebrows, paired with winged eyeliner, ensuring facial depth wouldn't fade even under intense lighting by the water.

When scouting the location, I initially worried the water surface would be too distracting, but introducing the black-and-white contrast brought out great visual depth. Although styled as swimwear, the halter-neck design bares the shoulders without exposing the waist, ensuring no wardrobe malfunctions even with large movements, and the subtle cutout at the cuffs fits her sharp, capable aesthetic. Reviewing raw photos right after shooting, I was already in love: the golden eyes shone brightly under the sun. Post-processing only made subtle color temperature tweaks, keeping the overall frame cool-blue while skin tones stayed warm.

Outdoor photography under direct sunlight places high demands on exposure control, easily blowing out highlights or muddying shadows, but luck was on our side this time. Outdoor shoots always encounter unexpected challenges; this time, strong light tended to cast heavy facial shadows, so reflectors were used throughout for fill light, preserving facial details even in intense backlight. Summarizing the experience of this shoot, side-backlight paired with translucent caustic spots is key to elevating texture. I'm very satisfied with the overall hair, makeup, and outfit—clean lines and crisp color palettes are much more timeless than cluttered styling, perfectly bringing out the character's 2D persona.
