When preparing this Izumi Sagiri pool set, the core objective was to harmonize refreshing summer coolness with 2D character traits inside a studio setting. Styling the wig took more time than expected: combing the silver-white straight long hair with pink gradient tips required extreme care, and the positioning of the small pink ribbon bows on both sides of the head and the large pink ribbons at the hair ends had to be checked repeatedly against official concept art. For makeup, to accentuate the character's moe charm, I wore blue contact lenses and blended a wide wash of pink eyeshadow across the lower eyelids to create an innocent, adorable anime eye look for this Izumi Sagiri cosplay.
For the wardrobe, I chose a one-piece Sailor swimsuit: a white short-sleeved top paired with a navy sailor collar and red neckerchief, while the navy skirt hem below featured ruffled edges, keeping the overall silhouette visually crisp. To add textural layering, I paired it with white pantyhose stockings (White stockings). In actual shooting, however, stepping into the water or perching on the slick tile edge of the pool in White stockings easily led to snags, so every posture shift required cautious leg adjustments. The studio water was actually rather chilly, but gritting my teeth through it was essential for great shots—especially for dynamic kicks creating water splashes like in Photo 3; when droplets splashed across my legs, the soaked stockings caught the light with a semi-translucent sheen, fitting the summer pool setting flawlessly in this Pool photoshoot.
For props, we prepared brightly colored plastic water guns, beverage cups adorned with cute duck toppers, clear inflatable swim rings, and wooden tubs, infusing the frames with vibrant dopamine hues. In terms of composition, the photographer guided me to elongate my leg lines, utilizing the leading lines along the pool edge to enhance visual proportions. Seated poses demanded balancing upper-body relaxation while engaging core muscles to maintain poise. To keep expressions organic and playful, whenever holding the water gun or resting my chin on my hands, I repeatedly fine-tuned my angles before the lens to ensure a breezy, cheerful ambiance. Overall, the shoot went very smoothly, and the finished cuts captured Sagiri's signature languid and adorable demeanor from Eromanga Sensei—a truly fulfilling studio photoshoot experience.
