All supplies have been fully inventoried, with the bottled mineral water in the shopping cart and the cardboard boxes in the corner all placed in their designated spots. For this Blue Archive cosplay Anime-style photography set, preparing these props alone required considerable thought during pre-production. From full cases of bottled water to the supermarket shopping cart, every single item was chosen to match the slightly absurd yet playful theme of this supermarket photoshoot.
For styling, the layers of the long blonde hair needed to be carefully combed, and the curvature of the bangs had to be adjusted repeatedly. To match the overall atmosphere, I chose light blue colored contacts paired with soft pink eyeshadow blending, striving to present a translucent skin texture in front of the camera. The angel halo prop atop my head was custom-made in advance and secured to the wig with bobby pins, needing to stay firmly in place during active poses. For the costume, I picked a light blue halter apron dress featuring white wing graphics and letter prints across the chest, paired below with White stockings and sneakers. The skirt's silhouette is quite crisp, with tag details on the pockets—all elements that add extra points on camera.
The shooting scene was set up with seamless white backdrop paper. To create the everyday vibe of grocery shopping, we placed the shopping cart right in the center of the frame, surrounded by scattered water bottles with yellow and blue caps. The first shot featured holding a blue cardboard box: because the box has noticeable volume, the holding pose had to be adjusted right at chest level, with shoulders slightly shrugged and a faintly bewildered look in my eyes. Paired with the caption 'Onii-chan, I messed up again!', it created a clumsy yet adorable effect. Next came the pose crouching beside the shopping cart—lowering my center of gravity, leaning slightly forward, and tugging at my collar. This movement required good core control to keep the posture relaxed rather than stiff.
In the full-body standing photo, the emphasis was on showcasing the overall lines of the outfit and leg proportions. Letting both hands rest naturally along the sides of the skirt while standing with feet slightly apart, the combination of White stockings and sneakers drew the visual focus downward. Lighting was crucial during the shoot; we used a large softbox to ensure an overall bright-key frame without harsh shadows. The light blue outfit looked especially refreshing in cool lighting. The final standing pose with hands tucked into the pockets aimed for an effortless, casual feel, where the shopping cart and scattered water bottles framed the background so the image didn't feel empty.
The entire shooting process was truly a test of patience, especially when repeatedly adjusting the placement of water bottles and the angles of the boxes. While it looks like simple cart-pushing and standing, capturing the best expressions and body language required repeating every routine several times. During post-processing color grading, brightness was intentionally boosted and contrast lowered to give the entire set a light, airy 2D Anime-style photography feel. The overall vibe of this shoot was fairly relaxed, blending an everyday supermarket photoshoot scene with a distinct costume to spark wonderful chemistry. Treat this set as a mini-recap of my recent prep and shooting, and I hope it brings everyone a slightly different visual experience.
