[Hong Meiling cosplay] Touhou Project Master Hong's Anime convention Versatile Diary

This Master Hong costume has a solid five or six layers from outer garments to inner lining. In particular, the gold thread tassels on the chest and leather straps along the sides of the legs showed a distinct reflective sheen under the Anime convention spotlights. For ease of movement, I intentionally tightened the corset around the waist so it wouldn't loosen when performing kick poses. The single-leg standing pose in Photo 1 was actually thought up spontaneously during the photographer's countdown; fortunately, the bloomers had great drape without obscuring the thigh contours. The orange-red shade of the Red hair wig tended to shift color under the venue's cool lights, so during post-processing color grading, I increased the red saturation slightly to match the character's original design better alongside the colored contacts and eye makeup. This shoot mainly featured standing and crouching poses, with many angles discovered on the spot. For instance, crouching on the ground with one hand propped up was because the bloomers were long and prone to dragging, so careful attention had to be paid to the flow of the fabric hem. In Photo 9, adding round sunglasses was my own little touch, giving the character an extra aura of mystery and cool flair. Since the lighting contrast was strong, the main photographer used flash fill-light throughout, allowing eye and facial shadows to stay clean during snapshots. The costume comes with numerous accessories—such as leather bracers on the arms and floral ornaments on the head—all requiring pins to secure in advance, or they would tilt when walking around. Although my feet ached after a full day, all the clothing details were fully captured in the final photos, making it a very fulfilling photoshoot experience.
