For this Anime convention cosplay, I portrayed Remilia from Touhou Project. A lot of thought went into preparing this predominantly pink Lolita dress. To ensure the layered ruffles maintained a fluffy volume in natural light, a structured chiffon fabric was chosen. Supported by the internal pannier, the skirt takes on distinct silhouettes when standing versus sitting, with the spread-out contour in seated poses looking especially ideal. The red ribbons and ruby brooch at the chest ground the expansive pink tones and brighten the overall palette. For makeup and styling, I used a bright blue wig and red colored contacts to fit Remilia's setting. The eye makeup wasn't overly dramatic; since the costume tone is soft pink, the eyeliner was drawn slender without heavy dark smokey effects, using red lipstick instead to emphasize the character's mischievous charm. The prop wings featured a red-and-black gradient, looking softer than solid black and harmonizing with the pink theme. The Outdoor photography location was set beside red-and-green shrubbery, chosen because the distinct botanical layers created a natural contrast with the dress without visual clutter. For composition, we used many low-angle shots: as a vampire lord, Remilia's petite stature contrasts with her commanding presence, which low-angle framing captures perfectly. Photo 3 was chosen as the cover because the medium close-up focuses the gaze, where the red eyes reflect best under natural light while the blurred background makes the subject pop. We also subtly adjusted postures, aligning finger directions with lace lines to guide visual focus toward the face and bodice. A Lolita dress cosplay involves many accessories, requiring a straight posture and careful arm placement to avoid looking bulky when sitting. Natural daylight and clear skies illuminated the fabric's true texture. While ornate characters require considerable effort in managing folds and accessories, every shot strives to faithfully convey the character, and I hope everyone enjoys the charm of blending Lolita styling with vampire lore.
