This cosplay photoshoot came about quite suddenly, but because I am very familiar with the photographer, Master Sisi, the shooting process was highly efficient. When I got the finished photos, I was also shocked by these two completely different emotional contrasts—moving from a collapsed curl to a proud, upright stance, all completed within this single pedestrian bridge scene.

The location selection for this Outdoor photography was brilliant: a white steel-frame pedestrian bridge with a very strong modern feel. The lines are clean and sharp, and the steps and metal railings split the frame into an excellent sense of framing. Going on location often brings unexpected problems, and the most awkward thing this time was indeed the white over-the-knee socks. In the early morning that day, I realized I forgot to bring them. After searching the whole city through Meituan delivery, I only managed to snatch a pair of pure white thigh-high socks; my heart truly sank by half back then. However, after looking at it for a while, these socks unexpectedly possessed a unique anime feel. This kind of sudden situation is also part of the charm of outdoor shoots, solved happily alongside the photographer.

When shooting, we mainly wanted to highlight the dual nature of the character. In the first set of photos, I curled up on the ground with prop boxes and sunflowers scattered around. The line "I hate dying, I hate everyone, and most of all, I hate myself" was not only a characterization but also externalized an emotion. It was quite difficult to capture a sense of depression under such bright sunlight, thanks to Master Sisi's control over light and shadow and guidance on positioning. Sunflowers are originally a symbol of sunshine, but under this kind of emotion, the scattered petals conversely fit that broken aesthetic beauty.

For the second half of the shoot, I switched to a more relaxed posture, standing on the steps holding a transparent umbrella. The transparent umbrella is both a safe haven and like a boundary. I understand the inner world of this character; she seemingly possesses an invincible pride, but her heart intensely craves love and recognition. In Picture 5, I hold the umbrella with one hand while grabbing my own twin-tail with the other. It looks casual but actually carries an unyielding stubbornness. She doesn't need to rely on anyone; as long as she believes in herself, she is special.

The weather was actually a bit muggy during the shoot, making me sweat all over, but every time the camera position was adjusted, I could rapidly enter the state. The photographer is excellent at catching the transition of emotions. From curling up on the ground to walking away with my back to the lens, to that final bold stance holding the umbrella, the entire process was exceptionally smooth. Once the finished photos came out, the combination of spatial depth and character emotion was just right. Every time I cosplay this character, it allows me to relive that sense of lonely yet unwavering power. This is probably where the greatest empathy and charm that cosplay works can bring to players lie. Watching oneself become that familiar yet slightly unfamiliar character and leaving behind a photoset with a sense of storytelling is, in itself, a very joyful thing.
