Preparing for this Wishadel cosplay shoot took more than half a month, with the core goal of bringing to life that iconic line: 'I will carve my name onto every single piece of Originium.' The wig was custom high-temperature fiber, which was quite reflective under studio lighting, and the red transparent soft horns required constant adjustment to hug the contour of the forehead. Putting on red contact lenses paired with heavy eye makeup gave my gaze a natural coldness and intimidation—these non-human red pupils stood out strikingly on camera.
The costume demanded the most thought in balancing the red, black, and white color scheme: the top layer was a glossy black fabric accented with an asymmetrical red emblem across the chest and puffy sleeve shoulders, over a white skirt layer and straps below. Around the lower legs, a custom combination of Black stockings leg garter and hosiery was styled; capturing this mix under lighting was tricky, as we had to preserve the glossy sheen without making it look gaudy. During shooting, we specifically placed a reflector to ensure the red pupils were sharply illuminated.
What satisfied me most from this shoot was the seated pose in the second photo chosen for the cover: sitting against a red-glowing backdrop enveloped in massive swathes of red sheer tulle, this expansive translucent red fabric created a psychedelic, semi-sheer aura under intense light. With my upper body tilted slightly to reveal black gloves and the lower half styled in a Black stockings leg garter look, these elements elongated visual proportions wonderfully. My fingers gripped a white thorn-inspired prop, contrasting against the red drapery. The photographer spent a long time capturing this gesture—the reflective backdrop paired with the fluid motion of red tulle captured a dangerous yet magnificent aesthetic under warm lighting. Meanwhile, the first photo was a top-down high-angle capture packed with pressure, where the forward-reaching hand gesture pushed the on-site atmosphere to the max, channeling the stance of a predator.
To me, Wishadel's greatest charm lies in that dangerous, enigmatic aura, so during the shoot, my poses leaned toward being languid yet razor-sharp, with makeup emphasizing red smudging around the outer corners of the eyes. The shooting process was exhausting—the white wig looked great but was heavy, leaving my neck sore afterward, and wearing red contacts for hours made my eyes dry. Constantly adjusting the red tulle to match the background reflections was demanding, but seeing the final photos made every effort worthwhile. This Dark style cosplay styling paired with the red Originium element is instantly recognizable, and the overall visual impact far exceeded expectations.
