[Shigure Ui cosplay] The Loli God's Uniform Outfit and Moe Twintails

The theme chosen for this shoot was Shigure Ui's Loli God look, and the overall result was essentially in line with expectations. From preparation to clicking the shutter, though the whole process was hard work, seeing the final shots made everything completely worthwhile.

In terms of costume selection, I customized this deep navy sleeveless pleated pinafore dress. To reflect the authentic texture of an everyday school uniform without looking too baggy, I chose a crisp, moderately thick uniform fabric. The large bright-red bow at the collar serves as the visual focal point; I intentionally crafted it from stiffer ribbon so that once tied, it holds a three-dimensional shape without collapsing. The collar of the inner white shirt had to be ironed completely flat to avoid looking messy once wearing neck accessories. The black leather belt at the waist with a silver square buckle flatters the waistline while echoing the overall uniform elements of the skirt.

For hair and makeup, the wig featured light-golden Twintails, with the bangs trimmed into slightly thick blunt bangs. Paired with oversized white plush pom-pom hair accessories at the base of the twintails on both sides, the cuteness level was instantly maximized. For these large pom-poms, it is important to select high-fluffiness materials, otherwise they easily turn into flat, collapsed balls. The base makeup was kept very clean; to emphasize a doll-like moe charm, noticeable pink blush was applied beneath the eyes and across the apples of the cheeks. Light green contact lenses were chosen to make the gaze look clear and luminous, paired with a subtle watercolor-red lip tone that felt natural and effortless.

In designing the poses, I attempted to present three distinct states. Photo 1 features standing with folded arms, leaning slightly forward, and tilting the chin up while looking directly into the camera to project a touch of tsundere, defiant mood. Photo 2 shows holding a small pink charm with the torso tilted slightly, appearing playful and cheeky. Photo 3 captures holding the bow tie while resting a hand on the hip at the center of the frame, which best showcases full-body garment details and silhouettes. When shooting against a pure white background, lighting is paramount. I utilized ample diffusion cloth to distribute overhead light evenly, paired with side reflector boards to minimize facial shadows, ensuring sharp facial features and distinct hair strands while making the White stockings and red-and-white shoes look exceptionally bright.

The day of the shoot tested physical endurance. Because the skirt hem was relatively short, making large movements posed a risk of accidental exposure, so every pose required cautious control over the skirt and arm positioning. The hand gesture in Photo 3 in particular was adjusted in front of the mirror over a dozen times to ensure it looked natural and unforced. Furthermore, the touch of red at the shoe toes happened to echo the red bow tie from head to toe, creating greater color balance within the composition—small details often overlooked in everyday styling that add tremendous value. Moreover, these Mary Jane shoes with red tips and white bodies are quite particular about foot shape; I tried several pairs before finding one that fit snugly while making the feet look petite.

Overall, recreating a character faithfully in cosplay means seizing every crucial key point: blonde Twintails, plush pom-poms, navy pleated skirt, White stockings, and even the shoe colors. Only when all these details are in place can the character's unique demeanor truly shine before the camera. The studio photos turned out very clean without flashy post-processing filters, preserving authentic textures and colors, which aligns well with my personal interpretation of the Loli God styling. Though tiring, presenting this look in my own way is the greatest reward in itself.
