For this Lunar New Year photoshoot, I specifically chose this red and white Chinese style outfit, which, combined with a room full of festive elements, provided a really rich sense of atmosphere. The styling features the classic double bun hairstyle, paired with exaggerated white fluffy pom-poms and red ribbons on both sides, instantly maximizing that lively and playful texture. The design of the costume itself finds a great balance between keeping warm and visual impact; the white long fluff at the neckline and cuffs feels exceptionally soft to the touch, which not only adds to the experience of a winter photoshoot but also makes the frame look fluffier and cuter. The metal-textured ornament on the chest serves as the visual focus of the entire outfit, with the thin red and white ribbons and shiny metal pieces adding an exquisite layer of depth to the overall look.

The shooting props were all filled with a thick flavor of the New Year. Whether handing out red envelopes marked with "Smooth Sailing" and "Good Fortune" with my own hands, or carrying a red blessing bag full of New Year atmosphere, it filled the frames with a sense of narrative. An especially interesting part was the interaction with that large golden ingot; sitting cross-legged and embracing it with my eyes closed genuinely gave me that reassuring feeling of "holding a whole year of wealth and luck." Lanterns are also excellent shooting props; holding a red lantern with the character "Fu" (blessing) written on it with both hands, with warm-toned light casting on my face, made my skin texture look clearer and fairer.

Warm-toned lighting was used on-site to simulate the effect of afternoon sunlight or New Year candlelight, with the cutting and diffuse reflection of light and shadow outlining the facial features quite three-dimensionally. The background was intentionally arranged as a traditional Chinese style scene, featuring dark Chinese-style wooden grid windows, a red tablecloth, and Lunar New Year couplets and square "Fu" characters pasted on the walls with blessings like "May all your wishes come true," "Peace," and "Wealth." Through appropriate depth-of-field blur, the character and props in the foreground stand out, making the frame highly layered. During the shoot, special attention was also paid to displaying the fluffy leg sleeves, where the red ribbon embellishments served just right to tighten the visual focus, making the overall look appear more slender and vivid.

Trying a completely different Chinese-style New Year theme this time, I also put some effort into expression management, striving to naturally integrate that vibrant, joyful feeling into every movement. Every time the shutter was pressed, I could feel a full New Year atmosphere. In post-production, the high saturation of the red color was retained, but the overall contrast ratio of the frame was controlled to ensure that the highlights wouldn't be overexposed and that there were ample details in the shadows. This bright, warm atmosphere carrying good luck in the New Year and sparkling effects fits the Lunar New Year holiday theme perfectly. The compatibility between the entire outfit and the scene is very high, turning the Portrait photography process itself into a highly pleasant creative experience, and capturing these shining moments in front of the lens truly gave me a great sense of achievement.
