[Jane Doe cosplay] The dangerous hunter in Zenless Zone Zero

The core idea behind shooting this set of Zenless Zone Zero Jane Doe photos was to materialize that dangerous yet charming sense of oppression. The phrase "You are the prey" directly set the tone for the entire photoset. Choosing to shoot against a light gray solid color background was mainly to allow the character's colors and silhouette to pop out to the maximum extent. The mint green short jacket paired with a black crop top features black straps on the shoulders and waist printed with the word "LOVER", along with silver metal buckles, maximizing the techwear vibe. The collar of the jacket has a circle of white fluffy decoration, adding a bit of softness visually, which perfectly neutralizes the overall tough tailoring.

The hair retains the black neat-bangs short hair, with very prominent red highlights at the ends, paired with a pair of bright cyan-green circle lenses. To make the gaze fit the character better, I paid special attention during the shoot to controlling the tension of my eyes—not too fierce, but carrying a hint of casual provocation. The animal ear decorations on top of the head and the gray-green long tail behind are the focus of this styling; the addition of the tail unconsciously made me incorporate a feline-like flexibility when striking poses. Holding the red-and-black short blades in my hand, the placement of my fingers and the turning of my wrists had to showcase a sharpness ready to counterattack at any moment.

The lower body is paired with black high-waisted leather shorts, featuring details of metal zippers and leather buckles. To enrich the visual layering, I chose black stockings with special flesh-colored patching and ripped textures. These stockings inherently carry a sense of intertwined biochemical modification and sci-fi, and when lifting a leg or turning sideways, they outline the leg lines wonderfully. On the feet are a pair of light gray high-heeled short boots, with white straps on the upper and red patterns on the toe echoing the top.

During the shooting process, we tried many pose variations on a black bar stool. Sitting on the stool with one leg slightly raised, or turning sideways to look back, can naturally guide the visual focus to the legs. Although studio shooting has a simple environment, it has even higher demands on lighting. Since the jacket fabric has a reflective feel, if the light is too harsh, many shadow details will be lost, so we used a softbox during lighting to ensure that the light spreads evenly over the character, making the shadow transitions on the cheeks and shoulders softer. The arc of the tail was also slightly adjusted in post-processing to ensure the overall dynamic fluidity of the frame.

The details of this styling are extremely abundant, from the color of the circle lenses and the highlights at the hair ends to the special texture of the stockings, all requiring precise coordination in front of the lens. In terms of poses, I tried my best to find a balance between coldness and laziness, such as the relaxed posture when holding knives with both hands, or the eye contact when looking back with my back turned. Every time I cosplay Jane Doe, it is another exploration of the character's unique temperament, and this set of photos also records some of my new attempts in action tension and emotional expression.
