I finally sorted out these behind-the-scenes shots with the laborer I caught in the Bang Group to shoot Haruhi together. This time it was shot directly on a phone. Although it doesn't have the ultimate image quality of a DSLR, it's convenient for producing photos, and we feel that the atmosphere is completely maxed out.
First, let me praise the clothes this time; it's a proper sailor suit from the Kawai JK Uniform Shop. Unlike many flimsy, low-quality ones, the fabric of this Sailor suit outfit really has a great texture, and it looks crisp and sharp when worn. The blue and white color scheme, coupled with the red bow tie, armband, and yellow headband, makes the color coordination look incredibly energetic. When I received it, I felt the details were well-made, and once I put it on, the Brigade Leader's vibe instantly came out a bit.
My partner, Hamster Sasuke, who played Kyon this time, also matched his dark blue suit jacket and red tie perfectly. We specifically chose Classroom photography to restore that daily yet extraordinary campus atmosphere. Scribbles on the blackboard, a guitar and an easel on the side, plus that red armbandāit couldn't be more authentic to the SOS Brigade vibe.
The shooting process was actually quite fun because many shots were dynamic snapshots; we played while shooting. For example, the interaction of grabbing his tie, erasing the blackboard, and the scene of standing side by side showing confident expressions, restored the feeling we have in our hearts for this classic school story quite well. We took a lot of similar interactive photos this time; it wasn't just posing, but genuinely stepping into the characters to interact, so I am quite looking forward to the final retouched results of the official photoshoot.
But honestly, the Brigade Leader's aura is really hard to grasp. That feeling in the original work of being confident to the point of being a bit willful, yet naturally possessing leadershipāI tried my best to capture it, but there might still be a gap in some expressions and demeanors. However, being able to wear these clothes and reenact youth in the classroom with my partner is an incredibly happy thing in itself.
Paired with the warm lighting of the classroom and the props in hand, this shooting experience was very comfortable. The Kawai shop's uniform definitely added a lot of points to the overall performance; it's very comfortable to wear and doesn't feel too tight even after shooting all day. Since this is a behind-the-scenes share, I won't retouch the photos too much, just posting the most authentic record for everyone to see.
That's it for this brief share. Thank you all for patiently reading this long string of ramblings. The joy of taking snapshots in the classroom these past few days is very real. I sincerely feel that it is very rare to meet fellow enthusiasts who play cosplay together and are willing to put in the effort to cooperate for a shoot. I hope this wave of behind-the-scenes shots lets fellow fans feel the fun of Anime cosplay coming to life.
