This private photoshoot for Megumi Kato chose this sea of flowers as the outdoor location. Actually, my initial impression of Megumi Kato was that of an ordinary girl who wouldn't be noticed at first glance in a crowd. However, as the plot progresses, her inclusive, calm, and slightly sharp-tongued traits actually make her the most dazzling presence. To recreate this feeling, in terms of costume selection, I picked this classic red cardigan paired with a white shirt and a thin black bow tie. This casual outfit looks simple, but the color contrast is very strong, making the red pop vividly against the green sea of flowers.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was quite a test. We started shooting around 4 PM, just when the sunlight happened to be side-backlit. You can see in the third photo how the sunlight hits the edges of the hair, forming a very soft rim light. When shooting in backlighting environments, to ensure accurate facial exposure, reflectors or fill lights are usually needed. This time, to preserve that dreamy atmospheric feel, I chose to keep the face slightly dark, appropriately brightening the dark areas in post-processing. This way, it retains the highlights of the environment while preventing the face from looking unnaturally pale.

Wearing this white plush beret was actually quite hot, but to recreate the character's cuteness, I just had to bear with it. As for the wig, Megumi Kato's iconic bob cut requires careful attention to the thickness and length of the bangs during trimming—they shouldn't be too wispy, but rather neat yet possessing a slightly naive, cute feel. I intentionally drew my eye makeup somewhat rounded to emphasize an innocent look, while keeping her signature aloof calmness in my gaze.

When interacting with the flowers, which is the second photo, I tried my best to make my movements look natural rather than overly staged. Megumi Kato isn't a character who tries hard to act cute; her movements should be gentle. So I was just lightly touching the flower, my gaze not fixedly staring at the lens, carrying a bit of nonchalance. The first photo, with hands clasped in front of the chest, is a rather standard well-behaved posture, making it very suitable for a frontal display.

This sea of flowers is truly photogenic, with pink-purple spider flowers paired with green stems, and the color saturation is just right. In terms of color grading, I leaned towards the low-contrast, bright, and translucent Japanese tone. I slightly lowered the contrast of the image, added a tiny bit of cyan-blue to the shadows, and shifted the highlights towards warm yellow, making the overall atmosphere softer and more healing.

We did encounter some minor difficulties during the shoot; for instance, the flower clusters were quite dense, making it easy to step on or block the flowers behind when finding camera positions. Moreover, the wind kept blowing, causing the wig's bangs to mess up from time to time, requiring the assistant to constantly help tidy them up. But when seeing the final photos, I felt everything was worth it. This time, instead of choosing gorgeous studio shoots or complex uniforms, I used the most everyday attire to recreate that girl wearing a white hat on the slope, hoping to convey Megumi Kato's quiet, companionable, and reassuring temperament.
