[Eriri Cosplay] Backlit Platform Scene: Overflowing with Galgame Visual Aesthetics

This shoot was set in a subway station at dusk, primarily to capture that distinctive atmosphere of backlit sunset lighting through Subway station photography. I am very pleased with the overall outcome; my friend captured fantastic angles during the shoot, giving the frames the look and feel of Galgame screenshots. The biggest challenge during shooting was actually the lighting: being fully backlit, insufficient frontal fill light would leave the face too dark, while overdoing it risks losing texture. Fortunately, using rim lighting to trace the silhouette of the subject, paired with the leading lines of the platform railings and train tracks, kept the compositions remarkably clean.

For the costume, it was the classic sailor suit paired with over-the-knee socks, styled alongside blonde twintails and black leather shoes; when platform breezes drifted through, the dynamic flutter of hair strands injected genuine life into the photos. As a cosplayer, I pay great attention to details. Fortunately, the rim light cleanly outlined the silhouette, harmonizing with the platform railings and track lines to keep the composition crisp. For the outfit, classic sailor uniform combined with over-the-knee socks, blonde twin tails, and black leather shoes; whenever the platform breeze blew, the fluttering hair brought the photos to life. As a cosplayer, I care deeply about details. In this set, everything from garment folds to the pairing of socks and shoes was spot-on, with no excessive retouching, preserving great grain and lighting layers. I didn't notice it while shooting, but reviewing the photos made me realize how easily this light-wrapped moment lets you step into the character. We didn't use fancy props, simply relying on the real subway environment and the camera's dynamic range to maximize the raw atmosphere. I love this style—every outfit choice and adjustment of light and angle brings out the character's soul. Sharing this is also to commemorate the synergy with my photographer friend; shooting on location often captures natural expressions far better than a studio. Especially the black stockings, showing a realistic sheen under the backlight without looking out of place. Faithfully recreating a character isn't just about appearance, but about expressions and environment interaction, which this set achieved naturally.
