PA-15's "Pure Doll" skin has a very unique charm in Girls' Frontline, so for this shoot, I decided to break away from the traditional bright and cheerful maiden vibe. Instead, I placed her in a cool, tech-infused cyber experimental pod environment to amplify the character's paradoxical blend of mechanical coldness and living warmth.
The overall costume design this time leans toward a Techwear outfit style, retaining her iconic light blue twin tails while adding black mechanical hair accessories to emphasize her tactical attributes. The black off-the-shoulder halter top paired with shorts features tailored cinching at the waist to ensure smooth silhouette lines in sitting and crouching postures. Black leather gloves on the hands and functional combat gear outlined around the waist boost the overall futuristic tech level considerably. For leg styling, I opted for Blue long socks paired with thick-soled tactical boots equipped with mechanical structures. This combination highlights her tall frame while visually reinforcing the overall sci-fi atmosphere.
In terms of hair and makeup, this light blue hair color heavily tests post-production color restoration. For eye makeup this time, rather than drawing heavy winged eyeliner, I preserved the natural eye shape and paired it with blue-grey contact lenses to accentuate the ethereal, otherworldly look in her pure doll concept.
The shoot took place in a dim indoor environment filled with various cables, featuring a set with an X-ray viewbox and several monitoring screens behind me. To match the cool Cyberpunk cosplay atmosphere, the primary light sources all utilized cool LEDs, supplemented by light blue and teal color gels for secondary lighting. This minimalist blue-and-black color scheme prevented excess ambient stray light while faithfully capturing delicate skin textures.
We experimented with two main perspectives during the shoot. In photo 2, I sit on the floor with legs naturally extended, holding a small data-stick prop in hand—a posture fitting a machine that has just awakened, nicely displaying leg lines and boot designs. Although this gear had numerous attachment points and sitting for long periods was somewhat exhausting, seeing that cold yet refined mechanical texture on the monitor made every tedious preparation feel worthwhile. During retouching, I deliberately preserved the luster on hair and metal accessories to give the overall image more weight. As a creative piece deeply exploring the character's inner world, this photoset recreates my understanding of the "Pure Doll" skin, hoping to inject a touch of genuine human vitality into her through the lens.
