Today, I'm sharing my final Game cosplay photoshoot of Evelyn from Zenless Zone Zero. To capture the character's cold, alluring charm and commanding presence, we put tremendous effort into the wardrobe details and scene design. The all-black patent leather bodysuit and opera gloves are the absolute visual center of this look. However, patent leather poses extreme challenges under camera lights: even the slightest fingerprint or speck of dust becomes immediately glaring under bright studio strobes, so I kept wiping the surfaces with a microfiber cloth between takes to maintain that flawless reflective sheen.

The wig was custom-trimmed and styled to recreate the character's haircut, with the bangs and wisps around the temples readjusted multiple times. Once the purple contact lenses were in, paired with deepened outer-eyelid shading, that sharp, piercing gaze instantly materialized. I chose a muted matte pink lip to create a subtle, soft contrast against the bold black-gold-red palette. The black choker around my neck and the gold tie were also repeatedly tightened and secured so they would never sag during the shoot.

For the set, we picked a vintage European room featuring black-and-white checkered flooring, deep crimson velvet drapes, and an ornate crystal chandelier, dialing up the atmosphere instantly. A vintage rotary phone, teacup, and chess set resting atop a polished wooden desk gave the frame authentic narrative depth. For the shots where I sat at the table playing chess, the photographer asked for focused eyes locked onto the board, with hand gestures looking effortless yet commanding. To capture the exact split second when the chess piece poised between my fingertips, we reshot that single action dozens of times.

While combining patent leather pants with high-heeled ankle boots dramatically elongates the legs, wearing and shooting in them was an endurance test. The skin-tight cut heavily restricted mobility, requiring core strength to hold seated and kneeling poses steadily. For the kneeling shot on the floor especially, keeping the cape's red satin lining draping naturally meant locking my shoulders and back in tension while relaxing my face into an unbothered, poised Yujie style demeanor.

To accentuate the patent leather's specular highlights, the gaffer spent hours dialing in rim lights and bounce reflectors, ensuring the black leather retained deep tonal gradients in the shadows rather than crushing into flat blackness. The color grading leans into a dark, retro tone, with every detail echoing her character traits. Though physically taxing, seeing the seamless synergy of light, shadow, and texture made every bit of work worthwhile. I look forward to creating more high-quality cosplay works next time.
