We finally seized the opportunity to do a seaside photoshoot with this Zenless Zone Zero Summer swimsuit look for Alice Cosplay and Yuzuha cosplay. Sunlight and sandy beaches truly make the best stage for showcasing this vibrant style. The highlight of this outfit lies in the fusion of techwear utility and sweet aesthetic elements. Although designed as swimwear styles, the charms, adjuster buckles, and asymmetrical tailoring required meticulous adjustments during shooting to preserve the authentic feel of the original character designs.
Portraying Alice, the goggles on my head and the green gear on my legs were my favorite accessories in the whole set; they broke the monotony of conventional swimwear and added an athletic, sci-fi tech touch. Yuzuha's styling was even more whimsical—her fluffy blonde buns paired with the pink plush ears headband took much more effort to maintain than anticipated, especially with high seaside humidity where keeping that fluffiness really tested styling skills. The yellow-and-green waist pack and orange inflatable arm ring on her wrist served as the perfect accents, making the overall pink-and-white palette feel even more vibrant and playful.
The biggest challenges of a Seaside location shoot are always the wind and the sand. We rented this beach section, and while the scenery was stunning, direct natural light often casts harsh shadows. Our photographer, Alma, was adept at utilizing the angle of light—for example, in the shots where we were seated by the bar, the thatched umbrella overhead diffused the harsh direct sunlight into a soft, transparent glow. This captured the fiery warmth of summer without creating messy facial shadows, resulting in exceptional texture.
For the first set of poses, we shot right at the water's edge. The sea was crystal clear, though fine sand kept creeping into our soles and the crevices of our props. Our shooting props—the transparent swim ring and the handheld spray bottle—reflected a gorgeous sheen under the bright sunlight. To capture those light-footed, energy-filled dynamic shots, we sprinted back and forth multiple times until footprints covered the entire beach, but the final photos made it completely worthwhile.
In this setting, the real test was facial expression management. In the high outdoor heat, sweating started after just a few steps. Since iced drinks or popsicles couldn't appear in the frame without disrupting character lore, we relied purely on props and body language to convey a refreshing vacation mood. Personally, I love the half-body close-up where we form a heart gesture together—it clearly showcases the collar details, strap structure, and facial makeup. Yuzuha's makeup remained exceptionally clean without any cakey texture under the intense light; all the touch-ups truly paid off.
For this Seaside location shoot, we planned roughly two posing sequences: one focused on dynamic candid moments running and interacting by the surf, and the other capturing relaxed, everyday static shots around the bar area. Both sets came out with amazing ambiance—especially on the beach, where the crystal-blue sky and distant mountain silhouettes gave these vibrant straight-out-of-camera shots remarkable visual impact.
Both Yuzuha and I are thoroughly pleased with how this Zenless Zone Zero Summer swimsuit look turned out. From the material choices and faithful accessory recreations to the blessing of great weather, every single element came together seamlessly. We hope these crystal-clear ocean shots let everyone feel the unique warmth, passion, and freedom of summer.
