Counting them up, I have accumulated quite a few photoshoots of vastly different styles in 2023, so I've organized and shared them in six small sections at the end of the year. Throughout most of the year, I jumped back and forth between gorgeous models, Hanfu photography, Fursuits, Gothic style, sweet-girl vibe, and specific cosplay photoshoots, with each style offering a unique experience.
The first section, featuring gorgeous style + Classic Lolita (cla), represents the most exquisite part of my wardrobe. The layered lace skirts paired with intricate headpieces are highly compatible with vintage picture frames and grand staircase settings. Shooting this style requires maintaining an elegant posture, slowing down to feel the gorgeous texture of the garment itself.
The second section is Hanfu plus Ouji style. For Hanfu photography, I captured a refreshing Chinese style among green willows by the water, and also experimented with a traditional look holding an oil-paper umbrella; combined with the arches and stone steps of traditional architecture, the atmospheric feel was excellent. The Ouji outfits lean towards neutral, handsome tailoring—suit trousers paired with long sabers and swords create a highly sharp visual effect on bluestone pathways.
The third section, fluffiness plus Chinese style, is a fascinating collision. The plush elements combine traditional Chinese frog fasteners and tassels, possessing both a cute demeanor and a touch of folklore familiarity. The scenes were chosen in front of courtyard greenery and lacquerware backdrops; the hairball decorations and masks worn are the finishing touches, adding a sense of agility to the photo set.
The fourth section is Gothic Steampunk and grotesque themes. Colorful wigs and exaggerated eye makeup create a unique artistic atmosphere. The huge red rose props, dark-toned scenes, and metallic accessories form a strong visual contrast. The combination of a blue-purple gradient hair color and an electric guitar breaks through the limitations of a single sweet style.
The fifth section is the sweet-girl style. Pink and blue color schemes paired with oversized plush rabbits and colorful balloons, placed in the outdoor seating area of a cafe or next to a Christmas tree, capture the tenderness within casual cosplay and daily life. Casual snapshots in the snow and top-down shots on the bed also hold high commemorative value, where a moderate sense of chill collides beautifully with liveliness.
The final section is the cosplay photoshoots that everyone is quite familiar with. Compared to casual cosplay, a formal cosplay photoshoot emphasizes specific character settings and themed styling expression. From the sharp and cold glamor of white hair and a black suit, to the fantasy colors of an elf ear holding a staff, and further to the red-haired office style and cyberpunk looks with holographic screens—every styling transition requires refocusing facial expressions and body language. Special thanks to the photography masters such as Hela, Badou, and Berkshire for their hard work over the past year. Whether facing the blazing sun for outdoor shoots or setting up lights on freezing nights, every satisfying final photo is inseparable from the professional cooperation of the photography masters. I look forward to continuing to explore and record light and shadow across different styles in the new year.
