[Kallen cosplay] Makeup test selfie: A Mind Full of Daily Antics Teasing Sakura

These are makeup test photos for Sixth Serenade from Honkai Impact 3rd. While shooting, my mind was full of scenes where Kallen teases Sakura, making for fun, playful expressions filled with cheeky teasing. As this was mainly a Makeup test selfie session, the focus was placed on makeup nuances and emotional expression. Trimming the silver-white wig was quite delicate, particularly the length of the bangs and the layering on both sides, requiring good volume to prevent it from clinging flat against the scalp. For headwear, the placement of the goggles and blue-purple horn accessories was repeatedly adjusted to stay faithful to the original design without blocking facial expressions. For eye makeup, I deliberately boosted the contrast of the blue contact lenses, blending pink-purple eyeshadow and winged eyeliner to bring sharp focus to my gaze, complemented by a glossy lip tint to elevate the overall refined facial finish. A prominent faux Purple rose was affixed at the neckline and chest, offering rich texture; paired with a black lace bow tie and subtle yellow stripes, the purple-white-black palette kept visual focus nicely centered.

While taking selfies, I tested various lighting setups, including even indoor top light and outdoor evening backlighting. The backlit shot with a soft-glow filter, though slightly hazy, created wonderful ambiance. The outdoor red brick wall background paired nicely with this outfit, yielding a high photo success rate. The shot holding a rose in my mouth was an intuitive capture while imagining Kallen teasing Sakura, perfectly reflecting my happy mental state at the time. I've noted before that revisiting this outfit feels like re-heating familiar content, yet every makeup test brings fresh insights. Taking selfies tests one's ability to find angles and capture mood; while there are moments feeling like 'apologies for being OOC' since one cannot physically replicate the exact facial bone structure of a character, I strove to get as close as possible to that lively, mysterious 2D aura. For contouring, I deepened the eye sockets and bridge of the nose, using natural false lashes to make the eyes appear rounder and brighter. Ice-blue lenses were chosen to unify cool tones with the wig color. The white scarf fabric has good substance, which, layered over the black inner collar, keeps the upper body visually dynamic. Raising the corners of my mouth slightly while looking directly into the camera or lowering my gaze helped recreate an elegant yet bold charm. Retouching was kept to basic brightness and contrast adjustments without reshaping facial contours, preserving authentic features. The entire session was very relaxing—which is why I felt in great spirits—loving this brief sensation of stepping into the 2D world. It was a thoroughly enjoyable makeup test experience.
