Standing in the dawn redwood forest wearing this red-and-white outfit for Dyadia cosplay, the weather and light were just right. The venue for this Meizhou location shoot was chosen in a straight, tall dawn redwood forest right next to a quiet river. The light cyan wig on my head, paired with the red-and-orange coat and white leg look, gave the overall outfit both the ethereal grace of a mythical character and a touch of playful charm.

To deliver great photos in this natural lighting environment, we worked on makeup details starting early in the morning. Dyadia's makeup emphasizes red accents along the eyeliner and eye contours, which, paired with colored contact lenses, makes my eyes look striking on camera. The fabric of the costume was actually lighter than expected, with sleeve cuffs and skirt hems swaying easily in the breeze. This added delightful surprises to the shoot, creating a fantastic dynamic effect, especially when walking near the water as the red-and-white hem brushed through the air with strong visual impact.

For the shoot, my Dasiming cosplay partner wore a deep blue robe and held a prop staff with a complex design. His blue-black hair and my cyan-green hair came together to create a lovely contrast of warm and cool tones on camera. Our theme this time was the Qiyuan Duo, so the photographer specifically had us act out a classic line: "How can there be any trespassing between you and me? Divine Shaman, this is called actively reporting for work." This gave our interaction a sense of story rather than just simple posing.

During the shoot, we tried several different poses. For example, sitting on uneven tree roots on the ground worked great for showing our relative positions and clothing layers; we also tried walking hand-in-hand along the riverbank, where water reflections enhanced visual translucency. One angle sitting on a horizontal tree branch really tested balance—sitting on a branch in heels while keeping leg lines elegant was quite exhausting, but the photographer captured very natural expressions, keeping details of the white Stockings cosplay look and shoes perfectly intact.

The photographer was a huge help throughout the shoot. Although this dawn redwood forest is beautiful, the damp ground and complex tree roots made tripping easy; thanks to my partner supporting me from behind, I managed to stand firm. Shooting close-ups was also fun: the photographer used foreground blur to frame my face at the center, where natural light made the makeup texture look delicate and the eye highlights shine brightly.

I personally love cosplay shoots conducted under natural light. Without excessive artificial lighting, relying entirely on soft light filtering through trees makes the red and orange of the outfit look vibrant and natural. During retouching, the post-processing artist kept the environment's deep green and gray tones without overly heavy filters, highlighting our bright attire beautifully.

In terms of prop details, we recreated Dyadia's red streamers and black patterns on the front collar, adding rich layers to the character. Furthermore, the texture of the Stockings cosplay look showed up wonderfully under forest light and shadows—neither jarring nor subtle, enhancing the visual appeal of the overall look. Tacit cooperation with my outdoor partner for Dasiming cosplay added plenty of vitality and atmosphere to these photos.

Judging from the final photos, the dawn redwood forest location was perfectly suited for this type of duo outdoor shoot; towering trunks and complex respiratory roots offered endless framing possibilities. To present the best results, we stayed at this location for nearly the entire morning, moving across spots with different lighting, so this photo set truly records our most authentic and natural state at that moment.

Completing this outdoor shoot for Dyadia made me realize that cosplay is more than just wearing a costume—it's about blending character temperament with natural landscapes under specific environments and lighting. I hope this red-and-white look in the dawn redwood forest accurately conveys the unique charm of the Qiyuan Duo.
