[Ye Shunguang Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Themed Outdoor Shoot: The Perfect Match of Sunlight and Wooden Railings

We completed this set of Ye Shunguang cosplay photos in front of an outdoor wooden fence, seizing the moment while the natural light was just right to capture both the character's aura and the ambient sunlight.

The wooden railing at the location was aged wood with silver-gray grain weathered by wind and sun, rough on the surface yet solid to the touch. During outdoor photography, sunlight is the biggest variable; fortunately, the weather that day was fantastic, with light filtering through the dense canopy to cast dappled light and shadow. These golden bokeh spots not only enriched the layering of the composition but also gave the overall colors a warm, bright tone.

To better portray the character's demeanor, I wore red contact lenses; this highly saturated iris color maintained a deep focus even under intense outdoor light. For the eye makeup, I specially emphasized the reddish-brown shading around the outer corners and lower eyelids, making my gaze look more expressive under diffuse light. The wig selected was a light auburn-brown with natural layers, a color that balances the visual weight of the hair without looking artificially shiny under bright light. The hair itself had a nice fluffiness, and when a gust of wind blew by during the outdoor shoot, strands flowed naturally—photographer Shaobing caught the exact moment my hair caught the breeze, which is the most vivid part of an outdoor shoot.

Regarding outfit details, the main color scheme is a red-and-white contrast. The top layer is a white short-sleeve top with ruffles, accented at the collar with a heart-shaped metallic decoration and red cord. The red inner layer creates a striking contrast with the white outerwear. The green-and-white beaded bracelet on my wrist looked exceptionally lively against the backdrop of green trees. The metallic waist buckle and small green pendants actually stood out with a touch of delicate refinement against the rugged outdoor wooden texture. The wide magenta piping on the cuffs was eye-catching, acting not only as a visual highlight but also visually elongating the line of my arms.

As for posing, I chose to lean against the wooden railing. The gesture of raising my arm presented an upward sense of openness in the composition, giving my frame a soft look. The contact between my arm and the railing formed a stable triangular composition, preventing the image from feeling empty. During the shoot, to work with the lighting, we constantly adjusted my standing angle, moving along with the dappled light spots filtering through the leaves to keep my face in a balanced bright zone and avoid harsh shadows. Photographer Shaobing made excellent use of out-of-focus bokeh, softening the silhouettes of leaves into gorgeous rings of bright spots, which greatly enhanced the dreamlike atmosphere of the shot.

Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable Ye Shunguang cosplay shoot. Under natural light, the colors of the outfit were rendered even more vibrant, and the refreshing outdoor feel softened the cool, aloof aura that might exist in the original setting. There was no need to deliberately manufacture complex emotions; simply facing the camera calmly and flowing with the direction of the wind captured these beautiful moments under the swaying shadows of the trees. Every angle of the branches and every tilt of the sunlight became an irreplaceable part of the image.
