[Kroos Cosplay] Arknights Halloween Convention Photo Sharing

I'm really satisfied with the output of this Halloween-style Kroos look at the convention, especially using the cloak for bounce lighting under overhead lights and capturing dynamic snapshots. Fresh off editing these event photos, I'd like to share the outfit details, prop highlights, and thoughts on this Arknights Kroos cosplay.

The yellow-and-green plaid cropped top paired with a white inner shirt looks visually very crisp; the cropped design combined with a midriff-baring fit avoids a bulky upper-body appearance while lengthening the waistline. The black skort features white stitching details along the hem, paired with a black leather belt and a square metal buckle that is versatile and cinches the waist nicely. The white bandages on my arms were specially made based on character traits, adding detail through crisscrossed layers to avoid looking flat or monotonous.

The black skeleton pantyhose serve as the visual centerpiece for the legs in this styling, with high-contrast femur patterns that flatter leg shape when lifting a leg or standing in a crisscross pose. Paired with platform black Martin boots, it elevates overall proportions while stabilizing my center of gravity. The bright yellow double-sided cape as an outer layer was the soul of the photos—the black-outside, yellow-inside design combined with star and moon patterns is extremely eye-catching when spread open. The slick fabric of the cloak naturally forms flowing arcs when capturing dynamic poses like leaning back or lifting one leg.

As a Halloween outfit prop, the pumpkin lantern can be held with both hands or hung by the side, perfectly blending into this festive atmosphere alongside bandages and an eyepatch. The orange-yellow wig paired with rabbit ear hair accessories and an eyepatch adds asymmetry and playfulness to the whole look. During fitting, I noticed the cloak was actually quite heavy, but luckily it hooks onto the collar so it won't slip even when walking. Wearing a midriff-baring cropped top indoors at conventions is very comfortable and breathable, making moving around easy all day.

The biggest challenge during on-site shooting was actually the venue's messy lighting, where top lights easily cast shadows on faces. I intentionally faced the bright yellow lining of the cape toward light sources when posing to reflect bounce light onto my face, while having the photographer use a medium-telephoto lens to bypass surrounding crowds. Convention photos differ from studio shoots in having no elaborately arranged lighting, yet they preserve that casual freedom unique to convention grounds—many casually captured frozen moments ended up much more vivid than stiff poses.

For this shoot, I paid close attention to interactions between props and body posture—such as looking down at the pumpkin lamp, casually looking up, or slightly winking one eye—states that convey the character's presence in specific scenarios. For makeup, I chose earth tones to deepen eye contours, paired with orange lip gloss to echo the wig color.
