[Arknights Cosplay] Texas the Omertosa and Lappland the Decadenza: Wolf Duo Teaser

This set of Wolf Duo prints was actually wrapped up nearly a month ago. I hadn't found time to properly filter and organize the raw files until today, so taking advantage of some free time, I’m sharing a single teaser print first to show everyone our shooting state and the general texture back then.

Fellow fans familiar with this setting can likely tell at a first glance that our original goal was actually to shoot the specific skin versions of Lappland the Decadenza and Texas the Omertosa. However, after asking around, neither of those two outfits had ready stock on the market, and custom tailoring lead times were indefinitely long. So, we shifted our approach and used a set of foundational black and white wolf stylings coupled with iconic beast ears to complete this creation, which also fulfills our little personal wish.

We put quite a bit of thought into the styling design this time to echo the characters' original traits. On the white wolf side, there's a fluffy silver-white wig topped with large, furry beast ears, along with darkened red eye makeup details paired with a black outer coat and striped sleeves, generating an atmosphere where wildness and mystery intertwine. On the black wolf side, sleek dark long hair coupled with black beast ears intensifies the visual contrast. The inner high-neck white shirt and black vest forge a classic black-and-white pairing, while that brilliant bright blue tie instantly injects a highlight into the overall dark tone. Paired with matching blue half-finger gloves, the upper and lower accents echo each other flawlessly. The gold metallic patterns and textures across the costume also perfectly counter the monotony of the black and white.

The venue on the day of the shoot was an indoor studio featuring vintage furniture. We intentionally chose a corner with a white European cabinet and classic Roman column elements as our backdrop. The lighting adopted a cool-toned soft light, with a bundle of white plants arranged in the left foreground to provide a blurred bokeh accent. Using a large aperture to darken the background not only highlights the facial expressions but also lends the overall frame a crisp, clean narrative depth—a magnificent example of Studio photography. Dual-character interaction is actually the trickiest part to gauge in this kind of shoot; it needs to express that interdependent bond between the characters without appearing too rigid. We experimented with several poses before ultimately settling on this action where I sit in front, she sits behind, and she gently clasps my wrist from behind. Intertwined with our high-and-low expression contrast, it unexpectedly fits the Wolf Duo setting beautifully.

Here, I also want to extend a special thanks to my partner for this shoot, 'Bocai Huahua Guai.' As the other core character during the actual shoot, she was incredibly professional. Not only did she coordinate with seamless synergy when posing, but she also discussed areas needing adjustment with me during breaks, making the entire process light and highly efficient. At the same time, I’m deeply grateful to photographer ZacsSnow for their sharp capture of light and shadow; the intertwining of warm and cool tones, along with the treatment of floor reflections, loaded the final prints with immense texture.

Additionally, let's chat about some actual experiences during the shoot. While this combination of wig and beast ears delivers excellent visual effects, wearing them for long stretches genuinely tests one's stamina and patience, especially when the weather gets slightly warm—it's not particularly easy. Throughout the shoot, we also had to constantly monitor and maintain the wig's fluffiness to avoid compromising character accuracy. Although the costumes this time weren't the specific skin variants, we strove to emulate the characters' signature styles through other accessory details, the sheer texture of the fabric, and the tailoring of the collars.

Even though a month has flew by since this shoot took place, we still remember many details vividly. Currently, the post-processing progress is running quite smoothly. This teaser is merely a fraction of the entire series; more prints showcasing different movements and atmospheres will be released consecutively later on, recording this little creation that we poured our energy into. A massive chunk of the joy in photography and cosplay is built upon teamwork and capturing character traits, and this set beautifully records that pure passion.
