Finally received the Convention photos of this Christmas angel Rem cosplay from the Huizhou anime convention.

Preparing for this Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- cosplay was truly an uphill journey. First were the wings on the back: because I had to stand and shoot for extended periods, the weight balance needed numerous adjustments. For the wig, I selected the lightest shade of blue, which took considerable effort to cut and style several times before achieving the ideal look. Makeup was tested repeatedly; to harmonize with the character's temperament, light blue colored contacts were chosen, with careful color transitions in the eye makeup to faithfully recreate her eye expression.

The convention floor was packed with crowds, and the photographer spent a long time squeezing through to locate a relatively clean backdrop. The first photo shows a frontal pose holding a gift box; to accentuate the bow on the chest and overall body proportions, I stood upright, testing hand gestures multiple times before settling on the final pose. The second photo features a single-leg standing pose—I nearly lost balance at the time, but it was done to convey dynamic vitality, primarily showcasing the pairing of red-soled high heels and thigh rings. The outfit features a midriff-baring design; despite chilly venue temperatures, I persevered to wrap up the shoot to fully honor the character design.

The skirt hem is a voluminous pleated design that flows nicely in motion, which, paired with White stockings and thigh straps, delivers strong visual impact—the leg lines are showcased thoroughly in the second photo. Under the convention hall lighting, the White stockings exhibited fantastic reflective texture, which, combined with the red Mary Jane shoes, lent the whole look a lively Christmas cosplay vibe.

Beyond the wings, props included a candy cane and a red gift box in hand, both of which had great texture; many passersby at the convention asked for joint photos. The ambient light at the venue was cool-toned, so the photographer graded it toward warm tones in post-processing to emphasize the lively festive atmosphere of Christmas. Fellow convention-goers passing by were also very accommodating, kindly clearing space so the photographer and I could nail these compositions. This outfit turned plenty of heads during the convention walkthrough; though the shooting process was tiring, seeing the finished results made every effort worthwhile. Honestly, Convention photos not only test a cosplayer's stamina and poise, but also demand a photographer's snapshot reflexes and lighting mastery, as well as mutual chemistry to find openings amidst the crowds. I am truly grateful for the photographer's patience and guidance in capturing such clean, crisp clarity. Attending a winter convention amidst chaotic surroundings and still producing such clean shots was no small feat—all in all, a truly special experience.
