Recording two songs in one outfit—such cost-effectiveness can only be truly felt once you try it yourself. For this dance recording, I chose the White Day Awakening live costume. When we first set this plan, we felt this outfit and this song selection were a match made in heaven. The White Day outfit has so many design details: the small high collar around the neck paired with delicate lace edges, the huge purple-white striped bow on the chest as the visual center, with yellow wavy lace sewn on the edge, and a golden metal badge in the middle. To match the golden hair, I also specially wore bright blue contact lenses, and the eye makeup specifically emphasized the lower eyelashes and eyeliner, so that the eyes would look deep under strong light. That pair of golden hoop earrings on the ears is also the finishing touch; once worn, Ayase Eli's aura instantly comes out.
Actually, I really love this makeup and styling: the golden hair plus blue-and-pink flower hair ornaments, and that white X-shaped hairpin, every detail is trying its best to be restored. When trying on this outfit back then, I had already decided to dance in it to the absolute limit. Physical consumption during dance recording was greater than I imagined, especially recording two consecutively, but as soon as the music played, my body moved automatically to the rhythm. Loveless World points to the sky, Loneliest Baby also points to the sky, Mermaid Carnival points to the sky, Wild Stars still points to the sky—it feels like whenever I dance to her songs, my hands just can't help wanting to point to the sky. As the woman in the project who loves pointing to the sky the most, Ayase Eli's move is indeed very contagious; every time she raises her hand, it feels like the air pressure of the entire stage is lifted up.
When dancing to Dancing Stars on Me, there was no pointing to the sky in the choreography, but the joy of snatching the wife's C position was not reduced at all. That confidence and tension of standing in the middle is completely the demeanor Eri herself would have. This time White Day and Loveless World matched unexpectedly well; recording the two songs back-to-back made the transition of emotion and physical strength a very good buffer. Running positions, moving positions, and snatching the C position on stage, singing while controlling facial expressions, covered in sweat but feeling completely fulfilled inside.
As a cosplayer, besides external equipment, what's more important is whether you can bring that energy of the character in front of the lens. From the smoothness of the wig to the longevity of the makeup, and then to the strength of the actions, every item must be fine-tuned before recording. Being able to successfully record both songs this time is inseparable from the usual proficiency in stage movements, and also inseparable from the confidence boost brought by the outfit itself. Wearing your favorite character and dancing your favorite songs—this pure joy is the driving power that supports me to keep shooting.
