[Ryougi Shiki cosplay] The Decapitating Bunny in the Supermarket

I ran over to the supermarket and bought a whole pile of carrots for just one yuan and thirteen cents. This time, I cosplayed Ryougi Shiki from FGO Fate The Garden of Sinners. Putting on this white kimono took quite some effort; the red trim at the collar and the embroidery texture on the chest turned out very accurate to the original design, and I specially styled the bangs on the wig. Paired with blue contact lenses, the visual effect under the supermarket's cool fluorescent lighting looked pretty great.

Many people might wonder why Ryougi Shiki would appear in a supermarket holding such a massive bunch of carrots. It's actually a nod to a character meme—the 'Decapitating Bunny'. Usually, photoshoot sets are shot in studios or open outdoor fields, so this time I thought I'd take advantage of a grocery run to shoot a set with fun contrasts using an everyday prop. When I grabbed the carrots in the produce section, an auntie standing nearby gave me a few extra looks—she probably thought the outfit stood out way too much in a place like that.

For the first shot, my idea was to use the pile of carrots as the foreground while leaning slightly forward, utilizing perspective to give the composition more volume while keeping my face centered. The second selfie was meant to capture that nonchalant, casual mood. Carrying such a huge bag of carrots felt genuinely hilarious, so when I got back with the groceries, I took a close-up shot of the packaged bag, and the price tag came out super clear.

As for the shoot itself, we didn't deliberately set up extra fill lights, relying directly on the supermarket's ceiling fluorescent lights. We were pressed for time that day because we didn't want to disrupt anyone's shopping, so we took a few quick candid shots and headed straight to the checkout. Overall, I feel this mundane setting gave Ryougi Shiki a very grounded, slice-of-life charm—after all, even the wielder of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception needs to buy groceries.

Walking through the aisles in this outfit surrounded by the hustle and bustle of daily life felt like living out an extraordinary slice of everyday existence. For FGO Fate The Garden of Sinners, the collision between Shiki's aloof elegance and daily mundane scenarios is really fascinating. Although the props were simple and straightforward, they left a deep impression on me. After all, heading to the supermarket for carrots was all about honoring the character's signature obsession. Holding such common vegetables brought a tactile weight that made for a truly unique interaction. Just like that, a fun grocery trip became part of the photoshoot, and I genuinely loved this slice-of-life perspective.
