This shoot was located at the Xiamen loop venue, where the spacious high ceilings and dark reflective tile floors are perfect for creating a cold, distant atmosphere. For this Changli Cosplay outfit, from blending the wig colors to stitching the costume details, I did plenty of homework beforehand. The pink-and-white interwoven long hair heavily tests hair direction and fluffiness; the butterfly ornament atop my head and the collar's metal components at my neck required multiple adjustments to ensure they were secure without choking me. The black-and-red arm sleeves feature strong character tension; the stitching of matte black and vivid red on the arms, combined with detailed glove textures, creates a superb three-dimensional depth under the venue lighting with just a slight angle adjustment.

I also put tremendous effort into the props, bringing along a modified thin-boned paper umbrella. The ribs' coloring, the red-and-white patterns on the canopy, and even the handle's feel were crafted to faithfully match the texture from official art. Even more challenging was the long-shaft weapon, which went far beyond simply holding it for poses. The red and golden-yellow flame-patterned handguard and hilt reflected varied luster under the convention's giant spotlights. Furthermore, the floating flame effect in my palm was actually performed towards an empty hand during live shooting, requiring strong visual imagination and physical exertion control—you have to imagine the fire in your palm actively burning and leaping.

In truth, the lighting at the Xiamen loop venue that day was extremely complex; dense square light arrays filled the ceiling, providing ample brightness, but direct harsh light would easily cast stiff shadows across the face. For this reason, photographer Wakaba and I stepped back slightly during shooting, utilizing the perspective compression of a telephoto lens so the blurred booths, crowds, and pillars in the background naturally formed an atmospheric backdrop. In one singular moment, standing in the center of the hall holding the umbrella in one hand and cupping the imaginary flame in the other while looking into the lens, the noisy ambient chatter of the crowd seemed to completely fade away—that breathless, quiet moment perfectly matched the deep sense of longing in the line: \"Long waiting for your arrival, never questioning departure in this life.\"

The main difficulty in these static standing and sitting poses lies in managing the focus of one's gaze. In my understanding, Changli carries a touch of aloofness and divinity, yet isn't entirely cold. Thus, in the close-up shot with a side-facing seated pose, I slightly pulled my chest in, with my thighs wrapped in black over-the-knee socks naturally drawing the visual focal point toward my center of gravity and the weapon in hand. In a venue with cold color tones and reflective floors, the texture of black socks crisp-cut and accentuated the red-black-white color palette. The white fabric and skirt fullness, combined with the black platform shoes on my feet, tended to drag along the ground when walking or shifting poses—a minor detail one must embrace when recreating faithful costumes.

To synchronize with the character's disposition, I finished hair and makeup early. The front color separation of the wig, sideburns, and bang length were meticulously trimmed to ensure that under front-facing angles, hair strands wouldn't obscure eyes or brows while gently softening facial contours. The convention floor was not only highly reflective but also quite slick, requiring extra care when executing large movements in this attire. I'm glad the outfit's waistline featured a fitted cut, allowing a lavish lower skirt flare without appearing bulky visually.

As I struck these poses by the railing at the edge of the booth, curious onlookers continuously paused nearby, yet the photographer's lens captured that singular moment of quiet isolation. The sheer spatial depth of the Xiamen loop venue is large enough to completely envelope a person; with precise control over shutter speed and aperture, the bustling convention vibe transformed into a soft, blurred backdrop in these convention photos. For shots holding the flame prop and paper umbrella, I deliberately adjusted my breathing rhythm to keep shoulder lines smooth and natural. Capturing these photos wasn't just completing a project, but a brief, immersive journey crossing dimensions in this Wuthering Waves cosplay.
