This set of photos was shot in a studio against a solid blue background. The concept this time is Rei Ayanami in a rock band style. For the costume, the upper body features a gray knit halter top paired with a denim jacket with detachable sleeves, trimmed with red straps and white fur at the cuffs. The lower body consists of denim hot pants paired with flared boot covers. The wig is her signature light blue paired with black clips; the makeup deliberately emphasized red eyes and a cool skin tone, with sharp eye makeup to capture the character's naturally aloof and quiet demeanor.

A lot of thought went into the photo poses as reference. To highlight the leg lines, I tried a high-kick standing pose on one leg; balance was unstable, requiring a tight core to maintain center of gravity while adjusting the hand motion tugging the collar ribbon. The seated pose on a black chair with crossed legs required relaxing the waist and leaning slightly forward to make the overall figure look more slender. The shot sitting on the ground holding the guitar with legs apart tested hamstring flexibility, and keeping it natural meant keeping the leg muscles constantly engaged. The kneeling-and-looking-back shot pushed the limits of waist twisting; to avoid back and waist stiffness, I adjusted my breathing rhythm multiple times. Lastly, for the arms-raised pose, pointing the insteps was key to making the legs look longer, stretching the vertical axis as much as possible—though my shoulders ached, the resulting height-elongating effect was fantastic.

Regarding props, the white electric guitar had great texture, but was quite heavy. It was manageable while sitting, but holding it steady while standing added considerable difficulty. The white electric guitar created a wonderful warm-cool contrast with the blue-gray background, and the red straps served as bold visual accents in the frame.

This shoot mainly tested studio photography techniques with clean lighting; post-processing unified the tones, pushing highlights toward cooler shades and refining the skin tone for greater translucency. This revealing outfit demands clean bodily contours. Before the shoot, I also did basic stretching to avoid cramping during prolonged, challenging poses.

Such a photoshoot differs from the usual soft aesthetic, expressing cool dynamic tension instead. The entire process relied on great chemistry between model and photographer. The photographer's shutter clicks helped me adjust movements rapidly, allowing continuous testing of different angles to find the most camera-flattering perspective.

Looking back at the styling details, this costume actually features numerous straps and buckles. For example, the red leather buckles along the sides of the legs and waist—if overlooked during posing—could make the outfit look cluttered. So during shooting, I intentionally let these red straps drape naturally or used them as leading lines to guide the viewer's gaze, adding visual extension. The white fur trims were also delicately managed; because they easily get messy, I tried to keep the fur fluffy when raising arms or crouching.

In terms of lighting, with a monochrome backdrop, lighting is paramount. Key light illuminated my face and legs, while side rim light sculpted the body's silhouette. This required facing toward the light even in contorted poses.

For post-processing, adjustments focused on refining proportions and brightening the skin tone uniformly. Instead of exaggerated liquifying, stretching the leg lines enhanced the body's verticality. Extensive blue tones were used across hair, clothing, background, and guitar; to prevent flatness, the red straps and belt played a vital role in adding depth.

Finally, sharing a few practical tips from this shoot: if you want to capture a similar style, I recommend testing your most relaxed and comfortable standing and seated poses in a mirror first, then adding emotional expression on top of fine-tuned movements. Among the poses tested, I particularly recommend the one sitting on the ground—it elongates the legs and conveys a great sense of freedom.
