[First Snow cosplay] Arknights Alter First Snow Styling: Backing Up Alter SilverAsh

Diving straight into the photoshoot of this Alter First Snow (First Snow cosplay)—it feels like an answer to my personal dedication. As mentioned in the post description regarding Alter SilverAsh and Alter First Snow, this shoot mainly aimed to showcase First Snow's cool, aloof demeanor infused with subtle inner strength in Arknights.

The biggest challenge on the day of the shoot was the immense weight of this gear. The wig features a long braid paired with animal ears, which needed not only secure anchoring to my head but also stability so they wouldn't slip during extended wear. The forehead ornament is made entirely of strung beads, exerting noticeable pressure across the brow, and combined with that massive white fur stole, I felt as if I were wrapped in a furnace. Yet to achieve the best visual outcome, enduring this weight was a necessity. The prop is an angular black mechanical piece that felt very heavy in hand; to recreate the lore atmosphere envisioned in my mind, I specifically wrapped vibrant blue ribbons around it.

Regarding on-camera presence during shooting, instead of looking straight into the lens, I chose to slightly lower my gaze, lending my expression a touch of aloofness and pride. While First Snow is typically perceived as gentle or sacred, I wanted to capture her stern coldness as a Saintess alongside her resilience as SilverAsh's sister (SilverAsh cosplay). The photographer coordinated seamlessly: cool-toned light falling across the white fur collar and silver strands rendered a translucent texture. The makeup emphasized eye contours, using cool-toned colored contacts to deepen the gaze. The collision between blue and orange beads broke the monotony of an all-white palette.

The post-production retouching involved careful consideration: foregoing exaggerated filters, we preserved authentic skin texture and makeup grain, darkening the black props while enhancing white gradations to harmonize the handheld weapon with the outfit. From planning to final output, tremendous effort went into this styling; in particular, to emulate the bitter chill of high-altitude alpine regions, poses and expressions were adjusted numerous times. Supporting a heavy wig and fur collar for hours was physically exhausting, but seeing the finished photos made every effort worthwhile. This in itself stems from a deep love for the character's story, hoping to convey her unique charm through this costume styling and nuanced play of light and shadow in cosplay.
