Putting on this Lynette outfit and standing in the black studio, I actually felt quite anxious. After all, the structure of Lynette's costume is very unique; the ruffles on the front collar, the white inner puff sleeves, and that layer of starry blue skirt—every single part requires meticulous attention. To accurately restore this Fontaine catgirl who doubles as a magician, it took nearly an hour just to adjust the wig. The silver hair needs to be fluffy yet well-styled, and the blue bow and pearl chain on the hair accessory had to be secured at the perfect angle without tilting. For the eye makeup, I specially emphasized that little blue star, paired with light-colored contacts, hoping to bring out a bit of her "seemingly lazy but actually sharp" temperament from the storyline.

This shoot consisted mainly of anime convention photos, and the venue was a dark interior with no stray light. The photographer's flash hit directly, which unexpectedly captured the reflection of the metallic threads and the details of the patterns on the clothes very clearly. The small black square bag with the black cat pattern was a great embellishment, along with that white fluffy tail on the back. Although dragging it around slightly affected my balance while walking, these were all necessary for the completeness of the character. We tried quite a few poses during the cosplay photography session, including standing and spinning to capture a sense of movement, as well as sitting on the carpet interacting with the bag. The one I am most satisfied with is the one where I reach out my hand; it feels like it breaks the distance of the lens and gives the image more storytelling flavor, as if Lynette is handing you a magic playing card.

Although these are anime convention photos without complex scene setups, I feel that the distinct black-and-white contrast of the background actually makes it easier to emphasize the texture of the costume and the facial expressions. We laid down a round white carpet, and when I sat down to shoot, the skirt spread out, making the layered blue-and-white pleats look incredibly beautiful without making the frame look too cluttered. Lynette is designed as a magician, so the outfit itself contains many geometric lines and starry sky elements, which look exceptionally layered under the flash. The entire shoot took about half a day, involving quite a few squatting and standing movements, and the petticoat was a bit heavy, but seeing the final photos made it all feel completely worth it.

Genshin Impact's character designs have always been very deliberate, and Lynette is one of my favorites in Fontaine. Being able to bring her to life this time required a lot of effort from styling to shooting, and I hope to convey that French elegance and a touch of clever wit that belongs to her. While organizing the photos, I discovered that different angles and lighting can truly make the same outfit present completely different vibes. This is probably where the true joy of cosplay and anime convention photos lies.
