This shoot perfectly captured the storyline of ditching a shift at KFC to go on vacation. Meeting up with photographer DR.Y at the Jiulishanshu B&B, we selected this turquoise pool as our main location. For the first look, I chose sparklers as props, focusing primarily on managing light and emotion. Dusk had already fallen, casting a cool blue ambient tone around the pool, while the sparklers emitted warm golden light—this warm-and-cool contrast gave the frame a cinematic feel. The black dress and the Black stockings in the water absorbed water easily, so I carefully controlled the skirt's placement, utilizing surface reflections and ripples to add depth to the composition.
For the second look, we switched to a clear swim ring and shot from directly overhead. This angle showcased my relaxed posture floating in the water while using refraction to make the leg lines look more slender. In terms of technical details, the photographer guided my arm positioning to prevent wardrobe mishaps and leveraged the deep-and-shallow contrast of the water to emphasize the subject. The distinct facial marking was specially designed by the stylist, faithfully recreating the character's signature look. In post-processing, we focused on refining the pool floor's mosaic pattern to look clearer and adjusted the wet Black stockings' highlights to look completely natural. A zoom lens paired with a wide aperture was used throughout the shoot, ensuring crisp facial clarity while softly blurring the glass railings and trees in the background. Because it was a Swimsuit theme, I paid close attention to keeping my poses natural rather than forced; for instance, the third shot leaning against the pool edge with an outstretched hand adds a wonderful sense of interaction. The entire shoot took about half a day. Fortunately, the weather was pleasant and getting into the water with stockings felt comfortable, though the dress and long gloves added some resistance when moving through the water. To maintain the striking visual appeal of Genshin Impact character Lynette's classic Black stockings styling, I smoothed away excess water droplets before every take, ultimately bringing this photo set to life.
