[Firefly Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail's Summer Sea of Flowers, Recording Firefly's Refreshing Moments

This time, the cosplay photoshoot was set in this summer sea of flowers near the water. Considering the naturally growing wild plants and dense woods, it actually fits perfectly with the character's slightly cool yet vibrant aura.

Regarding the outfit and styling, this time I chose a cream-white top with a sailor collar, accented by a deep ocean-blue bowknot, school uniform badges, double-breasted buttons, and a blue-and-white plaid pleated skirt, which feels casual yet carries a strong sense of youthfulness. This was paired with white over-the-knee socks and a dark bowknot hair accessory as the finishing touch. The silver-white long wig reflects a soft sheen under natural light, and the straight bangs were specially trimmed to stay as close to the character's design as possible.

In terms of shooting design, we focused on capturing interactive and natural moments. Especially in the third shot, where I am sitting on a wooden bench offering a layered sandwich, this high-angle perspective feels very interactive, as if transmitting happiness and the leisure of a summer afternoon from Firefly's perspective; the expression control facing the camera also carries a gentle and playful touch. In the first shot, standing by a tree stump and looking into the distance, slightly raising an arm to block the light, combined with the depth of the water surface and the waterside stakes, presents a serene atmosphere.

The environmental elements in the scene were very rich, including straight dawn redwoods, wild cosmos flowers and weeds, a wooden bench, and mottled black wooden stakes. To showcase this vibrant summer vibe, we made full use of these foregrounds and backgrounds during the shoot. For example, in the composition of the second and fourth shots, a telephoto lens was used to compress the foreground and background, allowing large patches of wild flowers to serve as a blurred foreground, placing the character between the sea of flowers and the woods, which added depth and a dreamy quality to the frame.

The weather on the day of the shoot was actually a bit unstable, with the clouds thinning and thickening, causing the light to change quickly. However, this diffuse natural light instead gave the tones of the images a very soft quality without harsh shadows, perfectly fitting the refreshing and translucent visual tone this cosplay photoshoot aimed to express. Summer outdoor shoots inevitably come with insects and stuffiness, but being surrounded by such a natural environment of greenery and wild flowers really allows one to settle down and contemplate the character's subtle expressions in a specific situation.

Overall, this cosplay photoshoot did not pursue overly glamorous studio effects, but rather sought to restore a relaxed and comfortable daily feeling through the most natural outdoor location combined with a relatively lightweight school-style outfit. Under the tacit cooperation with the photographer, several quite satisfying states were captured, truly recording the character's purity through the lens, making it a very rewarding outdoor portrait photography experience.
