[Tendou Arisu cosplay] Blue Archive Aris (Armed) Form: A Fusion of Texture and Cool Aesthetics

I restyled the wig and decided to share this set again, as I felt the details from the previous version could still be refined. In particular, the twin tails had curves that didn't look natural before and appeared a bit stiff. This time, I completely redid the styling, focusing on adjusting the hair flow and volume so the twin tails flow much more smoothly when moving or swinging. Additionally, the bangs covering one eye were trimmed again to create cleaner lines against the cheek, which, together with the cyan holographic halo effect overhead, significantly enhances the overall sci-fi vibe.

The shoot took place in a studio with a pure white background, as only a clean backdrop can truly highlight the colors and textures of this outfit. The trickiest part about this costume is the combination of high-gloss patent leather and rigid armor plating, which catches a massive amount of light. If the lights are placed too high, the fabric creates broad glare, washing out the chest's paneling structure entirely. To clearly capture these intricate geometric lines, we spent a lot of time adjusting reflectors and softboxes, eventually settling on a harder light angle that suppressed overexposure while bringing out the tactile texture of the materials.

To capture the character's sharp combat aura, I carefully planned the positioning of the halo effect. For instance, the low-angle shot in the third photo was deliberately chosen to elongate the leg lines through perspective, while looking slightly down at the camera to create a composed yet commanding presence. From this angle, the black-and-white armor on the arms and the straps on the legs naturally draw the eye downward, creating better body proportions. Posing required maintaining a proud yet playful posture throughout, which demanded quite a bit of core strength to keep movements fluid alongside head turns without looking stiff.

Moreover, the costume materials have poor breathability, making it very stuffy and sweaty after just a short time in the studio. We had to take breaks every few takes to wipe away sweat and touch up makeup to maintain a smooth, clean skin finish. Seeing the final edited photos, however, made all the time spent adjusting the lights and wig completely worth it. The contrast between wearing hardcore combat gear while radiating subtle girliness in the gaze and gestures came through nicely.

I really love the cyan holographic halo above my head in this set. Even though it was added in post-production, I had to keep my neck tilted during the shoot to align the positioning, silently counting beats in my head to ensure the green-cyan halo hovered accurately over the head armor. The visual styling is very cohesive from top to bottom—hair accessories, collar, and waist skirt armor all maintain a crisp blue-white-black color palette that I adore. When flashing double peace signs at the camera, I consciously controlled my wrist tension to give my fingers a lively bounce rather than a rigid stretch. For side profiles, finding the right jawline angle was key.

All in all, after readjusting the wig, the overall quality turned out much higher than before and aligns closer with my interpretation of Aris (Armed). Holding these tactical combat poses for hours was physically tiring, but this immersive experience is one of the greatest joys of cosplay. Aris (Armed) is a unique form that blends hardcore sci-fi armor with her innate playfulness. During the studio portrait session, I kept experimenting with how to blend these two vibes together—like shifting my weight slightly back while standing to look effortless, yet keeping a sharp, focused gaze. Seeing the warm skin tones stand out against the cool background tones in the final cuts makes the whole tactical aesthetic feel truly alive.
