The overall visual effect of this Frostmoon Song cosplay look is even cooler and more ethereal than I imagined. First, in terms of the wig selection, I used high-quality, smooth white long hair and did a certain amount of styling treatment. To restore the visual sensation of an ice and snow fairy, the ice-crystal headpiece on top of the head needed to be very securely fixed to the bun. Combined with the blue spike decorations by the ears, the entire head silhouette instantly possessed that sharp yet elegant chilly feel.
The layering of the costume is exceptionally exquisite. The inner lining part adopts a deep sea-blue tube top, supplemented with a diamond-shaped grid decoration on the chest, which looks visually like ice cracks on a snowfield. The outer layer is draped with an ice-blue gauze fabric with a shimmering water-like texture; this material is particularly lightweight, allowing the hem to naturally float with the wind when walking around. The circle of white fluff at the shoulders not only accents a hint of winter warmth but also neutralizes the visual cold tone brought by the overall blue color scheme. The high-slit design of the lower half heavily tests the wearer's leg lines. Paired with those transparent wedge sandals on my feet and the blue strap design, it can maximize the elongation of the body proportions, giving the frame more tension.
The long flute prop held in my hand is a highly eye-catching presence. It adopts a semi-translucent material, and within it, one can faintly see crystal textures resembling ice shards, reflecting a crystal-clear sheen under the overhead ceiling lights at the anime convention venue. When holding it, the grip actually feels a bit heavier than expected, but in front of the lens, this substantial weight instead allows one to enter the character state faster, making the poses look more natural.
The shooting scene this time took place inside Hall A1 of a large domestic anime convention venue. Everyone might notice those bright circular ceiling lights in the photos; although they provided highly sufficient illumination for the site, they actually posed high requirements for the photographer's fill light. This kind of exhibition hall's high-intensity artificial light source is actually not very easy to control, but once utilized well, the captured outcome often carries a strong sense of power, because the cold-toned industrial wind of the background can form a powerful contrast with the character's flowing elegance. The photographer guy @čē½ē½ is very adept at capturing this cool-toned atmosphere. At that time, we simply chose a relatively empty corner of the hall to set up a white high stool. People were coming and going around usāthere were convention audiences as well as many staff members working hard on shootsāso the background was actually very cluttered. Fortunately, through the lens's blur processing in the final photos, the subject and the long flute in my hand were beautifully isolated from the background.
Wearing this outfit at a convention is actually quite a test of stamina because the fabric is relatively silky; when sitting, one must constantly pay attention to the direction of the skirt hem to prevent it from piling up into a clump. However, when fellow fans nearby look over, recognize the makeup, and proactively say hello, that fulfillment of being recognized is indeed a great condiment. This time, I deliberately kept the makeup relatively clean, without using overly complex eyeshadow colors, but focused the emphasis on the outlines of the eyeliner and the pairing of lip colors. Paired with this complexion-brightening white hair, it inherently doesn't need too much heavy decorationāas long as the temperament is in place, it can perfectly echo the serenity of this attire.
For a styling that leans heavily toward a fairy-chivalry fantasy style, expression management during the shoot is also crucial; the gaze needs to be as soft as possible, avoiding over-exertion that could make the frame look too aggressive. I personally prefer this awe-inspiring yet inherently soft atmosphere in the final photos, which blends the character's coldness and beauty together. Every time I wear such heavily crafted clothing that took a lot of thought to prepare for an exhibition, it is truly a brand-new attempt. From starting hair and makeup at five in the morning until the final shoot concluded, although the body inevitably felt a bit weary, seeing the refinement and pride presented in the photos makes all the early preparation work feel entirely worth it.
