Embodying Mai Xiaowen (Mai Xiaowen cosplay) from Delta Force at the AGON booth on Day 3 of CJ was a unique experience. This Tactical style cosplay demanded strict attention to detail. The wig was styled into a sleek high ponytail with layered bangs trimmed repeatedly to match the canon silver-white hue and sharp silhouette. The eye makeup incorporated soft reddish blending, anchored by the iconic beauty mark under the eye. To keep the complexion luminous beneath red and blue neon lighting, the foundation was applied with extra coverage.

The wardrobe primarily utilized black leather. Underneath, a cropped white turtleneck top featured soft blue line patterns. The outer black leather tactical vest was outfitted with multiple utility straps and metal buckles, complemented by waist cutouts. To reinforce the tactical feel, utility harnesses and a white holster were strapped across the waist and thighs; these tended to shift while walking or sitting, requiring continuous repositioning. The lower half paired glossy black leather pants with lace-up boots. While the leather pants caught the expo hall lights with fantastic sheen, their breathability was minimal, making a full day on location a test of stamina. The prop carried substantial weight in hand, making it easy to settle into character whether holding a standing shooting stance or dropping into a low crouch.

For photography, the setup featured a Fujifilm GFX100S paired with Sigma 40mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 prime lenses. The medium format resolution resolved fine leather grain, gold embroidery, and fringe details with immense clarity. The wide aperture blurred the crowded background, isolating the subject with crisp dimensional presence. The booth's red and blue LED strips and monochrome checkerboard backdrop, combined with low-angle framing, complemented the tactical sci-fi aesthetic. With heavy foot traffic and intricate lighting across ChinaJoy 2026, finding clean angles took time, but the final frames made the effort worthwhile.

With many attendees stopping to watch, maintaining clean poses became a top priority. To suit different focal lengths, I alternated between seated, crouching, and standing poses while holding the prop. The 40mm lens established the booth environment well, while the 85mm isolated half-body portraits and eye contact. Throughout the day, I adjusted the shoulder alignment of the vest and the tension of the utility belts to keep the outfit looking structured during broader movements. The angle of the prop also required fine-tuning to emphasize the character's sharp tactical presence.

From head to toe, this ensemble carries strong visual identity through leather textures, functional accessories, and a focused presence. While mobility was restricted, bringing this complete cosplay to life was deeply rewarding.
