[Mare cosplay] Overlord destruction of the royal capital victory settlement, perfectly restoring the Sage of the Forest

This time I brought Mare's cosplay. From preparation to the final photos, a lot of thought went into the entire process. First of all, the most troublesome part was the Heterochromia. To make the edges of the green and blue contact lenses transition naturally in front of the lens, I did a lot of eye priming work before makeup to unify the skin tone around the eyes, so that the heterochromia would not look out of place when worn. The short golden hair was specially trimmed, and the length of the straight bangs just covers the eyebrows, giving an overall obedient yet mysterious feeling.

The clothing adopts a layering method, wearing a blue high-necked base shirt closely, with a white vest worn outside, and geometric patterns outlined on the vest with thick black lines. The green shawl is the soul of the overall styling, with a yellow ribbon tied at the neckline, and the collision of colors makes the frame richer. The Elf ears on both sides were handmade by myself by cutting shapes out of hard cardstock, and then applying skin-colored molds to shape them bit by bit, intentionally making some rough textures on the edges to make them look more like creatures growing in the forest.

That huge brown prop in the second picture was actually made by using foam sculpture as a base and applying ultra-light clay layer by layer on the outer layer. To create that rough texture like dead wood, I repeatedly carved textures on the surface, and after drying, applied several layers of dark brown paint. Although it is very heavy in hand, the texture is fully maximized during shooting. To match the overall neatness of the costume, a pair of white gloves was also specially prepared to prevent paint from rubbing onto the clothes.

The shooting environment was chosen inside a car and indoors. When taking selfies in the car, the sunlight was just right, and the light and shadow hit the cheeks, making the heterochromia look particularly transparent. Sticking out the tongue slightly just captured that slightly playful expression. After returning indoors, lifting that huge prop staff, although my arms were very sore, I still tried to keep my expression tense, showcasing the character's calm state hiding great power.

In terms of post-processing, I tried to preserve the skin texture without excessive skin smoothing, only enhancing the facial highlights and shadow dimensionality, and adjusting the overall color tone to make the contrast between blue and green more vivid. The wig was given a bit of fluffy treatment at the top of the head to avoid looking stiff against the scalp. Although the entire creative process was hard work, the moment I saw the finished photos, I felt it was all worth it. I hope everyone can feel this unique charm belonging to the Sage of the Forest.
