[Marie Cosplay] Blue Archive's Nun Outfit, Faithfully Recreated with Care for Texture and Detail

A lot of care went into this Blue Archive Marie cosplay nun outfit, from the wig to the accessories. For the wig, I selected a bright orange shade and specifically trimmed the bangs, thinning out the edges so it wouldn't look stiff. The trickiest part was the black animal-eared veil on top of my head; internal structural support was used to ensure the ears stood upright, and the curvature of the gold trim was repeatedly adjusted to closely match the original design's outline. The white flowers and red berries on the side were manually glued on and reinforced with hot glue so they wouldn't easily fall off when walking or bowing my head.

For the neckline, the white inner collar was stiffened so the corners flare out naturally. That vibrant blue bow tie is the visual highlight of the entire ensemble; made from slightly glossy satin, I deliberately tightened the knot so it stays upright, echoing the round golden metal emblem. The outer habit was made from a softer black fabric, and the puffiness of the sleeves was achieved by adding a thin lining layer inside, keeping their volume even when bending my arms. The hollow gold straps on the arms were custom-made—their hollow diamond patterns stay faithful to the game artwork, and elastic bands were added to the inside so they don't pinch too tightly, making movement comfortable.

The lower half consists of a lightweight white short skirt with a nice drape. On the thigh, a wide white ruffled leg band is paired with golden straps—a subtle touch of anime-style fashion that enhances overall color coordination without letting the outfit look too plain. For the photoshoot, I chose a staircase location; natural light hit from the side, making the orange wig and blue eyes appear remarkably translucent. I specifically chose larger-diameter blue contact lenses to give my eyes a softer look, which fits the overall anime makeup style.

For the makeup, the base was kept matte and clear. Light orange shadow was used as a base for the eyes, with eyeliner extending the outer corners, finished with mascara to make the eyes pop. A cinnamon lip color was chosen so it wouldn't clash with the orange hair. During the shoot, we tried several angles. In the second selfie, I raised my head slightly, capturing the exact position of the blue bow tie and gold decorations under even lighting, so I decided to use it as the cover image. After multiple try-ons and adjustments, the details of this nun cosplay finally achieved a satisfying level of accuracy, and sharing this is my way of documenting all the preparation behind this look.
