The CD30 convention trip has come to an end, and now I finally have time to sit down and organize the photos taken on site over the past few days. This shoot was mainly to fulfill a promise made with everyone this summer, bringing this outfit that I'd prepared for a long time to the event. Since Heaven's Lost Property is a gateway anime for many people, being able to appear as Ikaros at CD30 holds a lot of meaning for me.

The preparation work really tested my patience. The pink short wig had plenty of hair volume, and during styling, I had to secure that iconic cowlick on top bit by bit—it's the very soul of the look! To match the character setting, the mechanical collar with a chain around the neck was hand-painted using special materials to give it a heavy metallic feel. And those huge pink wings, although made of soft foam material, were genuinely massive. Wearing them around the exhibition hall was physically exhausting, but seeing everyone gather around to take pictures made it instantly worth every bit of effort.

The atmosphere at CD30 was as enthusiastic as ever, and the cosplays from fellow fans in the hall were all done with great care. I met quite a few friends who recognized Ikaros, and some even brought similar prop setups, with everyone marveling at the enduring charm of such a classic character. Since her personality is rather quiet, I tried my best to recreate that calm yet slightly dorky facial expression during photos.

The line "I've arrived, I'm leaving, waiting for convention photos" actually reflects the high-frequency sentiment of many convention-goers on site. Weaving through dense crowds, busy checking out various booths, time flies before you know it if you aren't paying attention. Often, before you even get to explore properly, it's time to head out. So this time, I specifically recorded moments of interacting with fellow fans and photographers, hoping to leave everyone with a genuine impression of Ikaros.

Regarding this casual cosplay outfit, I deliberately passed on overly extravagant fabrics and chose a light blue zippered jacket paired with a white inner layer that leans more everyday while staying faithful to the setting. Props and a wig alone aren't enough; the outfit itself, with its numbered aesthetic, conceals many subtle details. Enhanced by colored contacts, the deep blue eyes were recreated beautifully under the venue lights, fitting right into anime-style fashion.

The convention experience is always a mix of pain and joy. The large wings almost got snagged on a barrier, and the wig got a bit messy in the crowds, but all those troubles melted away whenever photographers stopped me saying, "Could you smile a bit?" or "This angle looks great!" Watching everyone record what I looked like as Ikaros in that moment brought a wonderful feeling where the 2D world intersects with reality.

Waiting around for convention photos is also a nice way to wrap up this event. While organizing photos, I see many brilliant moments, as well as candid snaps of myself sweating from holding up the heavy wings and key props—these are all very real parts of the convention experience. Stepping out of daily routine to briefly become a character from Heaven's Lost Property and passing that joy to fellow fans around me is, in my opinion, the greatest happiness for a cosplayer. Looking forward to the next convention, and looking forward to sharing more convention photos with everyone!
