[Mash cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: White Lily and Kouhai

For this Mash cosplay photoshoot taken at the convention, photographer Xiaoyu was exceptionally precise with snapshot timing. The venue background featured numerous black light stands and gray concrete flooring, creating a sharp contrast against the all-white styling; yet in such a cluttered environment, it surprisingly produced an otherworldly stage-like feel.

Speaking of the look's details: to recreate Mash's quiet kouhai demeanor, I specifically chose light purple contact lenses and a soft pinkish-white short wig, paired with sheer white lace gloves. For props, I prepared this bouquet of white lilies. The floral center was actually quite heavy, and holding it while maintaining a delicate, graceful posture put quite a strain on my arms. Particularly in the kneeling pose of Photo 1 and the waist-up close-up of Photo 4, I had to keep holding the bouquet against my chest—constantly managing facial expressions while ensuring the delicate petals weren't crushed or bumped in the crowded convention hall, which took considerable effort to fine-tune movements and angles.

I highly recommend checking out Photo 3. It was selected as the cover because the composition is relatively clean, placing the subject right in the center away from the edges. The moment of lifting the skirt while standing, accented by the white high heels, beautifully highlights the leg lines. Standing in those white heels for so long definitely made my soles ache; to achieve a flattering line of extension, I had to stretch my calves straight while keeping my upper body upright without showing any strain on my face. Although sitting on the floor in Photo 2 looks very relaxed, the dynamic skirt-lifting pose in Photo 3 feels noticeably more lively.

Reflecting on the Cosplay photography itself, Xiaoyu was wonderful at utilizing the convention's available lighting, especially the overhead lights that shone through the white lilies and the openwork lace on the dress, giving them a luminous, translucent quality. The post-processing tones avoided excessive saturation, preserving a cool, pristine whitish texture that aligns well with Mash's gentle yet steadfast character.

Because it was shot at a live Anime convention cosplay, crowds were passing by constantly, requiring us to dodge pedestrians between takes. This shoot had been planned for quite a while; since the white dress was delicate and sheer, we had to be mindful of dirt when sitting, specially picking a relatively clean patch of flat floor for Photo 2. We originally planned to bring the shield prop, but swapped it for white lilies to keep the visual frame clean, resulting in an even more ethereal, pure atmosphere. Finally, heartfelt thanks to Xiaoyu for the hard work in shooting—this set serves as a wonderful memento of that convention day.
