[Olga Marie Animusphere Cosplay] Fate/Grand Order Director: Waiting for the Gacha Banner in the Rose Garden

Taking this Olga Marie costume from material selection to finished build took about three weeks. The cluster of blue flowers on the hat brim and the horned styling were the most labor-intensive, crafted from lightweight foam material so wearing it on my head wouldn't feel too heavy.

The light-transmitting effect of the white lace shawl was ideal, displaying the silhouette of the black inner lining beneath in the sunlight. The large black bow at the waist was made of crisp satin, snatching the waistline neatly when tied tight. The gloves were custom black short gloves with anti-slip dots on the fingertips for easy handling of props and tidying hair. As for makeup, I deliberately emphasized the reddish flush around the eyes paired with orange-red contact lenses, aiming to convey a touch of the Director's resolute yet slightly high-strung impression.

The natural light on shoot day was fantastic; around 10 AM, sunlight filtered through the rose trellises to cast dappled shadows on my face, making my complexion look translucent without needing extra reflectors. The photographer, Akane, captured many angles for this Cosplay photography set—from close-up face shots to leaning sideways against the flower bushes. You might notice I paired bright blue leg warmers, which actually echo the blue flowers on my hat, keeping the entire outfit's color scheme tightly controlled within white, black, and light blue. Most roses in the garden were magenta and light pink, creating a visually pleasing contrast when set against my cool-toned costume.

While shooting this set, I kept thinking about the gacha banner in Fate/Grand Order; not that I had to max it out, but I habitually wanted to save Saint Quartz for that key character. When posing for this Outdoor portrait, I intentionally refrained from doing too many combat poses, choosing instead a quieter, walk-in-the-garden mood—after all, even the Director needs moments to unwind at Chaldea.

In post-processing, I mainly suppressed background highlights to preserve petal textures and leaf greens, avoiding over-smoothing skin to maintain three-dimensional light and shadow transitions. Walking through bushes in this outfit meant the skirt hem and lace got snagged by branches several times, but I endured it for the outcome. That's probably the norm in cosplay—as gorgeous as it looks, only you know the price paid for details. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the lighting, venue, and costume completion of this Rose garden photoshoot, considering it a sincere tribute to the character of Olga Marie Animusphere.
