This time, I am bringing you the finished photos of Shu cosplay in her new Arknights outfit 'Gleaming Tassels, Serene Shadows'. The design of this costume is truly special; the light silk and soft satin fabric gleams softly under the sun, creating a very lightweight texture. The subtle patterns and Chinese frog button details on the clothes are extremely exquisite, paired with bright yellow long detached sleeves and red and blue line patterns on the arms, making the accuracy level maximized. The wig is a split of three colors—white, yellow, and blue—along with the iconic dragon horns and pointed ears, making the look highly recognizable.
To perfectly match the Chinese-style photography elements of the outfit, the shooting location was specially chosen at a classical garden. The blue bricks, grey tiles, wooden doors, stone bridges, and dappled tree shadows and light spots perfectly complement the costume's mood. The round fan is also a custom prop; the embroidered flower branches paired with tassels look very elegant in hand. The sunlight was just right during the shoot. The backlight hitting the hair made the strands more translucent, and the lens flares on the stone bridge photos look very natural.
A lot of thought went into this shoot, from costume matching and prop preparation to location scouting, hoping to present the character's serene and gentle temperament. The makeup was also adjusted, with light eye makeup paired with light-colored contact lenses to better fit the 2D character setting. I feel very satisfied seeing the final photos. This look, both in color and tailoring, is perfect for shooting under natural light; even a casual shot carries a great sense of storytelling.
