[Rosmontis Cosplay] Special Ops Cat Operator Under the Sun, Arknights - Image 1

This Rosmontis cat cosplay photoshoot from Arknights was shot at a very sunny outdoor grandstand. Paired with the daytime concrete grandstand and green wire fences, it delivers a realistic sense of an operator standing by at a training ground.

When initially communicating with Boss Lin Meng about the makeup and styling, I especially wanted to capture this character's high-cold yet slightly childish contrast charm. The silver-white long hair combined with fluffy animal ears immediately defines the visual center when worn on the head. However, to match this styling, the black collar around the neck and the half-finger gloves on both hands were not left out; this black-and-white combination paired with bright blue collar accents beautifully highlights the character's efficient temperament.

Regarding props, we specially prepared a black tablet computer and glasses with chains. During the shoot at that time, I imitated the character's habitual movements, holding the tablet in my arms or holding it with one hand, striving to look like a special ops operator performing data calculations. The small gesture of holding the glasses was also specially designed, both creating a "sense of scientific research" and preventing hand movements from looking too rigid, adding a touch of vivid small detail to the frame.

The sun was highly abundant on the day of the shoot, with light shining directly down from the side-above, forming sharp shadows on the ground. Although continuous shooting under the blazing sun posed a test of physical strength, it was precisely because the light was harsh enough that it clearly outlined the character's edges; the translucency brought by outdoor photography is something studio shoots can hardly replicate. The black Martin boots worn on my feet not only enhanced the overall sense of styling but also allowed the single-leg standing pose to be maintained very stably.

Although Rosmontis's setting is a powerful combat operator, her appearance often gives people a feeling of needing protection. Therefore, when posing, I tried my best to keep my gaze calm and soft. Coupled with the excellent weather, the cloak naturally lifted when the wind blew, capturing a vibrant sense of motion when snapped. Recalling when I first confirmed this shooting plan with Boss Lin Meng, we had already decided to utilize daytime natural light to highlight the clothing texture and the character's state.

When organizing this cosplay photoshoot set, looking at the bright white floor tiles and the staggered gray-white step background in the frame, I feel the overall color tone shot this time is extremely clean and bright. In terms of color coordination, the white hair, the blue-and-white dress, and the deep blue cloak stand out exceptionally in such an outdoor scene based on gray-white and green tones, showing a great color contrast. Although the process of touching up makeup and adjusting the wig under the blazing sun was tedious, seeing the final effect displayed in the finished photos and that temperament somewhere between cute and serious being frozen makes me highly comforted. The atmospheric feel presented by the entire set also perfectly matches the fresh yet slightly cool feeling I envisioned for this character's final photoshoot.
