This photoshoot was set in a studio dominated by a black-and-red color palette, where extensive spiderwebs, iron chains, and tombstone props accentuated the overall Dark style Gothic Lolita atmosphere. Regarding the outfit, this intertwined red-and-black Gothic Lolita dress features intricate craftsmanship: the bodice and skirt hem utilize glossy red-and-black patterned fabric, while the sleeves boast multi-tiered black lace. Paired with spiderweb-textured black Stockings, the materials showed prominent texture under the red overhead lighting.
During pre-production, I communicated specific compositions with the photographer, mostly utilizing moody, dim red ambient light. To express the character's mystery and allure, I deliberately adjusted my posing gestures. Holding the red scythe required an upright, stately posture; because the skirt was large and heavy, maintaining a steady stance was essential to project an imposing aura. For the close-up holding the red apple, the focus was on eye control, tilting my head up slightly while looking straight into the lens to convey a teasing, alluring charm.
A few shots featured seated poses, retaken five or six times to fine-tune the angle of my legs—utilizing the spiderweb black Stockings and chunky platform shoes to present the best possible leg lines. There were also overhead shots lying on the checkered floor, where the photographer placed a hard rim light behind the camera position, lending an eerie, uncanny mood to my closed-eye expression. Prop placement was equally deliberate: withered branches on the floor, scattered skulls, the 'R.I.P.' inscription on the gravestone, all unified under crimson lighting to keep the color scheme harmonious.
For hair and makeup, a silver-blue wig paired with red contact lenses created strong contrasting colors perfectly suited for a vampire character. The eyeliner and red lips were applied boldly, as dark-scene photography demands sharper facial contours to anchor the visual focus. In post-processing, shadow details were intentionally preserved without excessive skin-smoothing, maintaining the moody Gothic Lolita Dark style texture. The entire shoot went smoothly, and switching between different poses allowed me to gradually immerse myself in the character's state.
