[Clover cosplay] Deadly Charm in VALORANT: Self-styled streetwear Subculture fashion

When shooting this Clover cosplay look, I deliberately chose a dimly lit setting inside a car. Aside from matching the dangerous, lethal aura intrinsic to VALORANT, the neon light trails within the vehicle highlighted the edgy Subculture fashion atmosphere brilliantly.

To accentuate the character's traits, I went with complete Self-styled streetwear this time—curating and assembling the outfit entirely by myself. The black sheer top subtly reveals skin undertones, paired with pink plaid suspenders to forge a stark visual contrast. This collision between pink and black is the very core of trending Y2K Subculture fashion.

In terms of styling, I specifically picked this sheer mesh top because it lets skin peek through softly under dim light, carrying an understated allure. Combining it with that pink plaid strap not only adds rich layering to the ensemble, but also balances out the heaviness of solid black. Stacking chain necklaces and crosses also took quite some thought, as only abundant and intricate accessories can construct that rebellious, cool subcultural mood.

For accessories, I layered multiple chunky silver chain necklaces featuring butterfly and cross elements, accompanied by a black choker and fluffy gloves. The wig underwent meticulous trimming to create a flicked-out black short bob with hidden pink peekaboo highlights. To faithfully recreate Clover's design from VALORANT, I clipped two silver bobby pins across my forehead and placed a pair of black horns atop my head.

The hair and headpieces were definitely a time-consuming phase. I bought bobby pins, reshaped them with hairspray, and used makeup sponges to prop up the roots for volume, testing endlessly until achieving the natural hair texture seen in the photos. The silver hairpins and black horns gleamed with a cold metallic sheen under the lights, photographing exceptionally well.

Even more dedication went into the makeup. I smudged red eyeshadow broadly across the lower lash line, dotted subtle freckles across the bridge of my nose, and wore pale blue contacts to channel a hazy, melancholic, yet razor-sharp gaze. The facial contouring combined with the makeup gave the features striking dimensional depth.

We experimented with a variety of camera angles—from an aloof gaze looking straight into your eyes to dynamic reaching hands, and even a radiant, toothy smile. Because the vibe on set was amazing, the shoot was pure joy, completely channeling the character's dangerous yet magnetic charm.

Shooting inside a vehicle was both exhausting and exhilarating. Space was cramped, so finding the right angles meant crouching or contorting my body throughout the session. After every take, I immediately checked the camera preview for lighting feedback and recalibrated my gaze. However, the resulting effect was fantastic—the play of light and shadow across my face had a hazy yet sharp texture that matched her shadow-dwelling demeanor. The sheer fabric demanded precise physical posture, yet I stayed committed to projecting dramatic tension through my eyes.

Subculture fashion has always been one of my favorite means of expression. Bringing this VALORANT character to life gave me an even deeper appreciation of how styling shapes a persona.
