[Mutsuki cosplay] Azur Lane's Sakura Empire Kindergarten: Daily Life with Kisaragi

This time, Jiezi-chan and I did a duo cosplay of Azur Lane's Sakura Empire Kindergarten versions of Mutsuki (Matsuan) and Kisaragi (Kinu). The full outfit features a classic blue-and-white sailor uniform paired with a small yellow pleated skirt, along with the iconic yellow dome hat and fluffy animal ears and tails, making it absolutely perfect for a school style cosplay shoot. We specially found a classroom with beautifully transparent sunlight. The warm afternoon light spilled onto the wooden floor, creating an amazing layering of light and shadow that gave the photos a soft, film-like quality. For the outdoor location, we also chose a patch of grass; the low-angle shot under the blue sky and white clouds made us look exactly like we were playing on a real kindergarten lawn.

In terms of makeup, to match the character's refreshing style, I opted for a translucent base look, focusing heavily on enhancing the roundness of the eyes. Paired with light pink hair and matching colored contacts, I hoped to recreate Mutsuki's soft, cute, and slightly clumsy temperament. Jiezi-chan's Kisaragi was also highly accurate; with green eyes paired with a red bow tie, we spent a long time adjusting the arc of her twin tails to make them look natural. For the props, the little plush toys in our hands and the small charms by our feet were specially prepared by us, adding a great deal of interactive feel. During the shoot, we tried various poses such as holding hands, looking at each other, and sitting on the floor gazing down at the plushies, making the captured snapshots feel incredibly natural.

Honestly, for this kind of school style cosplay, the most important thing isn't how gorgeous the scene is, but rather that relaxed and carefree sense of atmosphere. The entire shooting process felt like spending a leisurely afternoon with a good friend. Free from the stiffness of forced posing, it felt more like snapshots of an ordinary school day.
